Party of five adults. I will be traveling with two of my kids ( 20 & 24), my niece (20), and my nephew (19). My last Disney trip was in 2015. We stayed at Pop. This is my niece and nephew's first trip. We are planning a three-day trip with only two park days. We are definitely going to Epcot. Not sure if we will do two days at Epcot or a second park. I have booked two rooms at Swan. I see DVC rentals available at SSR and OKW. I like the idea of us being in one space instead of two separate rooms when we are not in the parks. But, I don't know if Swan's proximity to the parks outweighs the space. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Will you have your own car? I stayed at SSR for a one night pre cruise stay and it's BIG. I'd probably opt for the swan.

Here are some of the issues to think about:

What are you planning to do while not at the parks? There isn't all that much happening at the Boardwalk anymore, but Old Key West and Saratoga Springs are both near Disney Springs, with lots of shops and restaurants. On the other hand, those resorts require driving or taking the bus to all parks, while the Swan is walking distance from Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

How long do you intend to stay in a park? If you're planning to go to Epcot or HS and spend the whole day there, taking a bus may not be an issue, but if you intend to go back to the hotel in the middle of the day, the Swan will be more convenient.

Where do you plan to have breakfast? A 1-bedroom or larger suite would have a full kitchen, so you could bring oatmeal, bagels, or cereal and have breakfast in the room. I'm not sure what's in the Swan rooms, but there will be less space to sit and eat. On the other hand, you can get something before, during, or after a walk to Epcot.

Dinner near the hotel is a wash. The Swan has several restaurants, with more at the Dolphin. Dining options are more limited at OKW and SSR, but Disney Springs is nearby.

How much time will you be spending in the room with a group of 20 somethings?

The Swan location is right at Epcot, and HS vs a bus from SSR or OKW. There is also lots of dining options around Crescent lake vs the limited options at SSR or OKW without going taking transportation.

In the end, it’s your decision but I believe the Swan’s proximity to the parks definitely outweighs the space, particularly on such a short trip. You can walk or take the boat to 2 parks. You can walk over to the Boardwalk in a few minutes.

My sister & I stayed at Swan 2 nights for Wine & Dine half marathon weekend and we loved it.

Is there Disney theming in the rooms? No. But, our room was comfortable and quiet; the lobby coffee shop is fantastic, takes mobile orders and sells Mickey waffles! The staff is friendly and helpful. Il Mulino is a great restaurant and lounge too. Plus, The Swan & Dolphin are 1 stop on the boat to and from Hollywood Studios.

Absolutely Swan, so much less time wasted in transport and that is very important on short trips. Two bedroom DVC rental must be what you are looking at to maintain access to 2 bathrooms & you would get you a shared living room- but who wants to hang in a hotel living room when you only have 2 days to do parks?! And at that age they should be able to stay in a hotel room on their own just fine. Did you call Swan to book the family stay connected deal? Might be able to do connecting rooms that way, and you can always request connecting or nearby.

Bonus points is Swan was recently remodeled and looks lovely.

If it were me, I would choose the Swan all day long. The resorts around Crescent Lake are my favorite place to stay.
