I really need some help. My parents have decided at the last minute to join us on our Disney Trip and I am in panic mode. All my reservations were made at the 180 day mark for my family of 5. We are suppose to leave in 2 weeks. My parents are totally not planners. I tried to book them at the same restaurants as us using a table for 2 but all the places are booked. Can I call Disney and have them added? I have a feeling they will say no if these restaurants are booked. Do I just show up with the extra 2 people and hope they can accomadate us (soooo not my style)?
I am freaking out! Has anyone been through this or am I out of luck??? I really want to cry.

You should try calling disney to change the reservations. It's better to be safe than sorry. I think if you initially had 2 people and added another 2 then it wouldnt be much of a problem since most tables can accommodate 4. But from 5 to 7 makes a huge difference case then they might have to combine tables together to accommodate.

I hope it works out for you. We're still having trouble booking our reservations and we're still months away from our vacation.

Don't panic. Sit down at the computer with one or both. Pull up your ADRs. Show them that there are no more seats available at those restaurants/those times. Explain that you will be happy to help them make ADRs at other restaurants, or that you will wish them well if they want to just try walk-ups.

You can and will tour with them. You can and will eat at CS locations with them. But you are soooooo sorry that you will not be able to eat any TS meals with them. You are just sure they will have a great time too, and that you can meet up with them after dinner for evening meals.

Do not let their late decision to come to WDW derail your trip.

You cannot add people to an existing ADR. Don't show up with 2 extra people either, that's probably not going to work.

Ditto.

I understand how frustrating this situation must be. I have had experiences where I was unable to get an ADR but they were able to accomadate me as a walk up. You can check with the restaurants 30 minutes or so before your ADR to see if they might have a table for two. I wouldn't count on being able to sit with on another. All in all I think Quin probably has the right idea.

Thank you everyone, I have calmed down. My parents are of the mind set that Disney is waiting on them. :scared1: They even booked deluxe dining, not really sure if they realize what that entails, but it will be less time with us for sure since they will be doing 2 table service meals a day, I guess wherever they can get in at this point. :confused3

I am going to talk my mother into getting text messaging on her phone and we will just text her and my dad to tell them our location within the parks if they want to meet up.

I would never suggest to you or anyone else that you NOT bother walking up to the restaurant to try and squeeze them in. "it will never work?". Thats nonesense! ALWAYS try this as a last resort if nothing else worked!! I have walked up to many restaurants when they were no ressies available and was accomodated 95% of the time! So definitely try online daily for ressies for your folks, and while at disney get concierge to check for you as well. Daily if you have to. As a last resort, try walking up and asking them if they can squeeze them in. Many have done this with success. I have many times.

Good luck!

I would caution however that being both a larger party by then and having extra people you may find you have longer then normal wait times.

I had an occation once, that I had my TA make my ADRs for me. Of course, I didn't double check them and found out a couple of months before the trip that one of them was wrong. I tried every day to change the reservation to 6 instead of 4...I called and checked on line...nothing available.

So, the day of the ADR, we went to check in and I explained to them that my TA made the reservation wrong, and that we were a party of 6, not 4 and could they help us. It wasn't an issue...we were taken care and still seated at our time. They were very nice about it...this was at O'Hana for breakfast.

All you can do is try...I would call Disney Dining first and see what they say. Otherwise, your parents could be on there own.

Good Luck.

Ooooh that's a tough one.:headache: This happened to me a few years ago when my parents added on to our trip. Getting ADRs for 5 are hard enough, but 7?:sad2: Luckily, we went on a not so busy week, so we were able to change most of our ADRs, or just add a table of 2 for the same time.

Hope it all works out, good luck, and enjoy your trip.:goodvibes

I just got back from a trip with only one ADR and had great success as a walk up family of 5 at the Epcot restaurants. Which, by the way, were empty. There were tons of empty tables - even for places I had checked originally out of curiosity that were showing fully booked. I'd tell them to join you and see if they could walk up as a table of two. I agree, adding two to five may be more troublesome logistically for the restaurant. Otherwise - like you said - they can do their own thing.
