For our firendly neighbors across the big pond, I need your assistance. I will be on a business trip to London, next Sunday for 5 days. I will be staying at the Westminster Marriott. Please provide some suggestions for gifts for my daughters 14 and 19 and my wife.

Any special chocolates? cookies? Beer steins? Special tea sets? I would like suggestions for items which can not be purchased here in the states... something proudly made in the UK.

By the way, what is your weather like? I will be walking to the Conference Center at Church House, Dean's Yard.

Thanks!

It's gotta be Dairy Milk or Thorntons Chocolates for something sweet (or Smarties for the kids)

If you can find a Whittards, they sell specialty teas and lovely teapots for one as well as hot chocolate and coffee gift sets.

the weather is vile, bring an umbrella :umbrella: i agree with the thorntons chocolates they are lovely. :)
have a good trip

Something from Harrods or Harvey Nicholls and lots and lots of cadburys chocolate :)

definatly cadburys chocolate, whittards tea sets, thorntons chocolates, for your daughters how about some fashion jewelery from claires or monsoon (high street shops)

Friends of mine in the US always stock up on Terrys Chocolate Oranges.

Or even the new Terry's Chocolate Mint - yummy!!!

I would also make sure that you bring a light jacket. I would visit Harrods (they sell UK themed teddies, glass ware, bags), Selfridges and Bond Street for the chocolates from http://www.charbonnel.co.uk/ - very posh and very yummy. You can also get selection boxes with Cadbury's chocolates in them. A Cadbury's chocolate bar in the UK bit at Epcot was $2.50 each !!!!!!

Cadbury chocolates, After Eight Mints, anything in a Harrods bag.

The Cadbury's sold in Epcot is not the real thing, it is made under licence and has slgithly different ingredients than the UK version.

Here I am now in London trying to find nice London T-shirts or swetshirts for my DW and DDs. So far... Harrod's christmas Bears, La Maison du chocolat (incredable taste!), usual street vendor T-shirts (not too good), samples of tea... Westminster Abby gift shop had nice shirts, but quite pricey.

I can't seem to find a British stein or a nice shot glass... DD collects these.

Any ideas? I have 2 more days the depart early Friday morning.

Thanks!

We collect shot glasses from Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood. These two are in London.

Hope the weather has not been too bad for you and you are having a good time.

Susan

Sorry that I can't help you with the glasses, but I'm pleased that you're having a good time and that you've bought some lovely things. Enjoy your last few days
