Need for all parties at check-in?

I have been to Disney more than a few times and have never had the feeling that everyone was needed for check-in. (I know that at least a couple of times I have checked in by myself for all 3 or 4 in group.)

Next trip we will have two teens who won't check-in with us -- is there ANY reason why we can't check in for everyone? (It seems I recall some instances where every member was needed at check-in, but I think it was only during free dining promotion?)

Just one person (adult) from the group can check everybody in the party in. One year, my daughter didn't fly in until two days after we drove in. I was able to check her in and get her key/park pass.

It is only for the free dining promotion, that all need to be in the lobby for checkin. Folks were adding extra kids or extra juniors. For the price of a 1-day ticket, they were getting 7-10 days worth of extra dining credits.

There's no need for your entire party to be there. My husband has checked us in while I was sick in the car. I even checked in my in-laws and I wasn't even on their reservation (they were arriving later in the day than us).

Although when I first read "Next trip we will have two teens who won't check-in with us" I immediately thought they were being teenagers and refused to check in with you!

Well, that is sort of true!! They definitely believe that they have better things to do than stand around with mom just about anywhere.
