Can anyone recommend a good Florida lawyer that they have used? I need to transfer a deed from my DD to myself, and the State of Florida website was too confusing. I couldn't figure which forms to use, so I decided to hire a lawyer to confirm that I did everything correctly. Just waiting for return of paperwork from DVC, then I can have Florida issue a new deed, I think, but I want a lawyer to make sure. DD has an ex....

Talk to Timeshare Transfers. I think they will do the Deed and closing for $250, maybe less in this situation. That price includes the recording fees up to $50. If all you need is to change the name on the deed, you don't need a lawyer. I've also used Sunbelt title and Voigt and Voigt closing, both are closing services and I think both are associated with a law firm.

I don't think the ex matters per se. If the deed is in both their names, they will both need to sign it even if not married currently. I'm sure you could ask DVC about a good lawyer for this situation.

We bought through Shontell Crawford. We used Holland and Knight llp. Michele Virgilio, title insurance coordinator was the contact. They do a lot of dvc. I don't know if michele is a lawyer but they will be able handle this. Holland and KNight is a national law firm.

I felt comfortable with them. They are probably not the cheapest.

here is another company to use - did disney say you even needed one? Because its just a transfer, I thought they would handle it? I have used this company 4 different times, buying through TTS, buying and selling twice on my own. Good Luck

Thanks everyone, for the info. I am trying to follow the paperwork Disney sent me, which is for selling and transfers, and it's confusing. I have not been able to talk to a real person there, I am beginning to think that it's only computers answering my phone messages! I should hear back from them soon on my request for transfer. They had better not deny my request, I have paid my dd's total loan, except for 3 payments! That's another reason I thought I should have a Florida lawyer--just in case...
