The last time we visited WDW, Yak & Yeti was under construction. We're considering it for our next trip. We all love Chinese food, especially DD9. I've looked at the food porn pics and it doesn't look exactly like the restaurants we usually frequent, but it's not too far from it.

But how does it TASTE? I'll eat lots of things, but my fallback is beef and broccoli and I see they have that. They seem to be fond of bell pepper in several of their offerings, but I can have that left out.

If you loved it or hated it, please post and give DETAILS!!!

Thanks! :thumbsup2

We liked it. It was a pleasant surprise. The decor is fun, our food was tasty and the portions were large. Dh and I split a won ton soup and a chinese chicken salad at lunch. We'll go back.

I would like to now also. As the choices in the AK are limited. We may go back to the lodge and do WCC.

We had it last spring, and when we were considering ADRs for our upcoming trip it was the first one my husband mentioned. I had the duck and really enjoyed it, and I LOVED the wonton dessert. My husband had the steak and shrimp and really enjoyed his as well - he said it was one of his best meals of the trip. I just wish they had more selection for the kids, but that is a problem all over WDW.

Tried it in March and loved it!

We were 3A/1C, (although only at Disney does an 11 year old qualify as "Adult":rotfl:)

Youngest had the egg roll and fried rice, something she normally has at home and cleared her plate.

11 year old had the ribs, also nearly finished everything...

The "real" adults tried the Tempura Shrimp and Steak and Shrimp...again, everything was delicious, except I think I would have prefered plain or fried rice instead of the coconut-ginger rice.

I believe dessert was the Chocolate Brownie Sundae and sorbet...I am not positive because I left to use the bathroom and returned to find 3 people innocently licking their spoons!

We really enjoyed it. For us, it was similar to what we find in our area, but the kids loved the theme and the fact that we watched the parade from our window on the second floor (don't recall our exact ADR time, or whether or not I planned to coincide with the parade, but it just happened to work out...now, of course, both are requesting a repeat performance for October...yike, such pressure on the mother!!:scared1:)

Surprisingly this ended up being our favorite meal of the trip. I got the ribs which were delicious. My DS13 ate up my chicken fried rice and I relaly liked the asian slaw. DS13 got the sweet and sour chicken which he devoured...even my picky DS8 stole some of his brother's chicken. DS8 got the chicken bites and fries....loved them. The fires were really thin and crispy. Very different than other fries in WDW....very good. The chicken bites were pretty good too....different also than served elsewhere inm the world!
Of course this restaurant is owned by Landry's (RFC, T-Rex)....not Disney.

Tried the wonton dessert and it was soooooooooooooooo good. Very rich though and I couldn't eat it all. Kids got the brownie sundae for two....very good, but rich also.

We got a 10% discount as DVC owners which was a nice bonus!

Alos the kids loved the decor of the restaurant. It was a great experience and we will be doing it again on our next trip!

Ooo, I'm glad to read these good reviews! We were originally going to do Rainforest Cafe in November, but now that the Disney Visa is offering the free dining and RFC isn't included on the DDP I added Yak and Yeti onto our roster. Hope we can get the ADRs we want now!

Thanks for posting this question OP!

I highly recommend trying Yak & Yeti. The food is delicious and the portions are large. For apps we had the tuna and lettuce cups - both very tasty. My DH had the ribs (which he loved) and I had the steak and shrimp. For dessert he had the mango pie and I had the wontons. All which were really good. This was one of his favorite meals of our trips so we'll be eating there again in Sept. The decor is nice and it's really cool inside so it's a great place to sit down, enjoy a meal and cool down from the hot sun.

I made a 2:00 ADR and forgot about the Parade, what time does it start?

Maybe we will try this. It sounds like everyone really liked it.

This ended up being one of our favorite meals! We had a 2:00 which worked out great... after we finished, we went over and got our spot for the parade and probably waited 15 mins for it to start. (I loved the parade too!) My DH and I split the pan seared wontons for the app (delish) and the steak and shrimp for the dinner... for dessert the whole table split this HUGE brownie sundae which was also so yummy. If you like a cocktail with your meal, they have lots of fun drinks but it was pretty hot out, and we ended up with VERY tall beers!! It was a great meal. I do have to mention the service was probaly the worst out of any meal we had at Disney.... but the food more than made up for it.

Wow, how confusing. My experience was way different on portion size. We ate there in May. We found the food very good, but a little expensive, and portions way too small. Usually I find portions in restaurants stupidly large, but not here. We had Honey Chicken and something else I can't remember. I walked out hungry!

We have eaten here twice and really loved it.

The last time our server was exceptionally slow and the meal took well over an hour because he took so long to bring food, checks etc (but the whole trip we seemed to get paired up with poor servers...at O'Hana our server completely forgot to bring the kids meals but thats another story!).

But that said, we will absolutely be returning because we LOVE the theming and the food was wonderful!!!

:wizard: We ate there last summer and really enjoyed it. The fried green beans were great and so were the dessert wontons. I asked if I could substitute chicken for the beef in the Beef and Broccoli and it was no problem. My DD had the honey chicken and said it was really good. We have an ADR there for this August...it's become one of our favorites!

We've eaten here twice and will probably not return. We were not impressed. We do not do dining plan and the food here is expensive for the quality. The portions were huge but the food was mediocre. The first visit, my husband had the ribs and I had a lo mein dish. We split the green bean appetizers. The green beans were just okay but they were not as good as we have had at other chains of this same caliber. The ribs, a huge portion, were overcooked and overseasoned. The lo mein had no flavor at all but there was enough on my plate to serve a family of 6.

The second time we went, we tried the pho as we love it and have tons of places here that serve it. It was inedible.

Thank you thank you thank you!! I made an ADr here for our upcoming trip this september, but really didn't know much about it! i am sooo glad to see so many people liked it! to be honest, I made teh ADr just to try the wonton dessert:rolleyes1

now who has awesome food porn for us to go with these wonderful reviews :lovestruc

How on earth did your 11 year old nearly finish the ribs? I couldn't even eat half of them. Well, we did have an appetizer but still. Those things are HUGE! And I can't wait to get back to have more. ;)

We loved Y&Y so much on our Honeymoon last December that we gave up the oh so hard to get Le Cellier reservation to go back to Y&Y a second time.

We have had the lettuce cups, wonton soup, pot stickers, Crispy Mahi Mahi, ribs, duck, wonton dessert and sorbet. We LOVED everything except for the duck. My husband did enjoy the duck and may have loved it if he had not fallen head over heals for the duck at San Angel earlier in the week. After that duck dish no other duck could even come close to being good in his book.

We are heading back to WDW in January and will be dining at Y&Y twice once again. We are going with family so once will be with a party of 8 then once will just be the two of us. They really do serve you plenty of food. I'm excited for the party of 8 so we can order the appetizers we like and get a taste of them and still get the entrees and not have to be rolled out of the restaurant.

I have pictures of all of the dishes we tried if anyone would like for me to post them.

Larry says the best dishes he has ever had are the duck at San Angel, the Crispy Mahi Mahi at Y&Y and my spaghetti. This was his first experience with Mahi Mahi too.

I went in December and loved it! We had the potstickers for an appetizer, I had the BBQ ribs (they were ridiculously delicious), my DSIL had the beef and broccoli which she liked and the boys ordered off of the kids menu. I know someone had noodles (can't remember who or what it was exactly) but everyone really liked it. I'm taking my nephews back to Disney in December and will be making a reservation for Yak and Yeti again. I hope you like it as much as we did!
