Hello from snowy Toronto,

Getting closer by the day in becoming a member. The incentive of buying through AKV are the developer points (160) which would be totalled together with my yearly 225 pts. In summary, I will have my 225 '07 points, 225 '08 points (user year August), and the 160 dev points = 610 points.

My planning is looking like this...for Oct '08:

1) DCL - 7 night Eastern Carribean (total with all the rooms I have checked, etc) = 612 points;
2) DCL - 3 night cruise + 5 nights at Vero Beach; or a 3 night cruise + 2 nights Vero Beach, and then 3 at AKV.

I know it is my choice, but any feedback you may have on cruise lengths, and mixing it with more nights at a Disney property.

I have three daughter (7,5,3) my wife, and myself. Just trying to get the best trip possible. But then again, I guess I will have many more years to explore everything :)

I appreciate any input here.

We love cruising, but I would want to get to AKV sooner, rather than later! I love VB (we own points there) and I love the Atlantic ocean, to look at and to swim in, but I would get over to AKV right after the cruise that year - Savannah view accomodations would be calling to me!

PS. Keep warm and safe! We had a warm front come through, and we have lots of rain, and even thunder and lightning!

Personally, I'd go with the second option. We did 4 night sea/3 night land when we first purchased since it worked out that we had a bunch of points too. It was GREAT! We had the best of both worlds, really wanting to do the cruise on all points, yet really wanting to get to our new home resort. This made it possible for both and it really worked out well.

Have you considered the 4 night cruise, one night less in VB and then AKV? or Just the cruise and AKV? AKV is a gorgeous resort with so much to offer. We own at BWV, but I managed to get a nights stay at AKV for our upcoming, just to check it out and be completely submerged in it's atmosphere. BWV continues to be our favorite resort/location, but AKV is our second fav, and we do hope to be able to spend time there in the future as well.
Good luck with your planning and ENJOY!

The only reason we would do the 3 night is that it leaves on a Thursday, as opposed to the 4 night, which leaves on a Sunday. The four night would bring you back Thursday and thus, you would use more points on a weekend at a Disney Resort. Or I guess you could go to the AKV first, then head to the four night cruise. Options, Options, Options :)

Are the BWV really nice? I assume they are...what about for the kids (3 girls)...pool, activities?

I like your idea too that we could check out our new home resort!! Plus maybe 3 or 4 nights on the cruise may be enough for the kids?

I appreciate your advice.

If your kids really love pools, then they would love BCV. We have stayed there and my 8 year old never wanted to get out of the pool there. SAB has something for everyone.
