We just decided to add on 1/2 a day at the parks and we decided on Epcot. We are doing this the day we fly in. We haven't been to Epcot since 2003. I know Expedition Everest is up and running, and I think soarin over California, but anything else new? I wish we had more time....

Is soaring over California worth the wait? I know we will try and get FP for expedition everest as soon as we step in the gates of Epcot. Any other hints? Thanks!

Well, first thing first. Expedition Everest is in the Animal Kingdom. I would try a fast pass for Soarin'. Check out how quickly you can do Test Track. In Future World, I would definately go on Spaceship Earth and Turtle Talk then since you only have 1/2 day I might spend the rest of it at World Showcase enjoying the countries and riding Maelstrom.

Expedition Everest is actually in Animal Kingdom, not at Epcot.
IMO Soarin' is definately worth riding. I think it's a great experience- you feel like your flying! I would get a fast pass for that as soon as you can- it gets very long lines. You may also want to check out Mission Space. They have a new "low intensity" version of the ride for those of us who prefer not to spin. I don't think there are a lot of other "new" things since 2003. Maybe check out the Living Seas- they have some new Finding Nemo things that are really cute.
You didn't say when you are coming, but be sure to see if there are any events going on while you're here, like Flower and Garden or the Food and Wine Festival. Epcot has a lot of really great festivals and special events throughout the year.
Have Fun!!

OH SHOOT! I really wanted to do Expedition Everest. UGHHHH.... darn, darn, darn. :furious: Now what? It looks like it will still be Epcot! Ok, no more rambling, I promise!

Tell me more about Mission space and the gentler ride. I would love to try it, but I know I can't go on the intense ride. How do you know when they have the gentle ride? How intense is the gentle ride?

Must do fastpass for soarin' then get on Mission Space (less line.. almost none for the gentle version).

The gentle version still rocks, but no G forces. Then depending on how long till your soarin' timeslot.. check out Test Track.

The living seas is very disappointing right now till the refurb is finished. Turtle Talk is neat for kids, but will probably have a significant wait.

If you have limited time in EPCOT, in my opinion, Test Track is a MUST. If I were you, I'd get a fastpass to either Test Track or Soarin, and then stand in line for the other one. Squeeze in the gentle version of Mission around those. Stroll around World Showcase the rest of the evening. World Showcase at night is awesome.

We just returned from a 10-day trip, and the Mission Space always had the choice of Orange (intense) or Green (gentle) every time we went. The Green line was always 10 minutes or less wait time. I had tried the Orange when it first opened about 3 years ago, and I felt very bad afterwards as I get motion sick. So this time, I tried the green with my DS7, and we both loved it! The first time, I was a little anxious because there was still motion. But I felt fine afterwards, so the next time, I just relaxed and enjoyed it.
Of course, my DH and DD12 still prefer the Orange version!

Why not go to Animal Kingdom? I love that park too. And you could probably see a greater percentage of it in a half day. Epcot is huge.
