We are going to be at Epcot in a couple of weeks and would like to have an idea of a good place for a CS lunch.

A few things that I should mention...

We are on the dining plan.
We DON'T want to have burgers or hot dogs.
Cantina de San Angel will be closed while we are there.... I would probably choose there if it was open.
Previously, we have only eaten at Sunshine Seasons and would like to eat someplace we have never been.
We want to try new things but I can honestly say... Tangierine Cafe sounds gross.
We have dinner ADRs at Le Cellier around 5pm so need the CS to be around 11am - noon.

Any recommendations?

The Kringla in Norway had pretty good sandwiches and you get to pick a pastry for dessert! We actually did this our last day and took them with us to eat on the plane! (Much better than airplane food.)

We haven't tried it yet, but my Dad keeps mentioning the sausages in Germany as something he wants to try next trip.

What about Chinese or Japanese? They both have counter services. Japan I believe even has sushi at their CS.
Then there is Norway and France bakeries where you can get a sandwhich, dessert and drink for CS credit and the sandwhiches would be different. Salmon and egg, ham and apple, ham and swiss on croissant, quiche.
Fish and chips in England

If you wanna try something a little different, Norway is fun IMO. If you like open faced sandwiches :) but even if you dont get a meal there the schoolbread is delicious!
I would try giving Morocco a try but if it sounds gross to you then maybe not :)
Japan is always a decent option. And of course you can't go wrong w/ UK fish and chips.
Or any kind of pastry from France :)

Honestly World Showcase takes all of 10 minutes to walk around if you're just doing a lap. So just start walking adn the first thing that looksyummy, go for it! Just don't go to America. Boring burgers and hot dogs written all over that one :)

I would suggest a sandwich in France or Norway or fish & chips in England (at the walk-up window beside Rose & Crown).

Hi! We like Tangerine Cafe a lot, but I understand if that's not your thing. We enjoy the fish and chips in the UK...also had some quick and easy japanese from Yakatori House. There's a patisserie in France that has some lovely sandwiches, cheese plate, etc. We also tried the CS in China last time, but I wouldn't do that again unless there was no choice, honestly.

Tangerine Cafe is actually one of our top 2 favorite CS places in the worlds. It's not as exotic as it might sound either. Of course it could not be your taste, but it might be worth peaking in.

While we are on the topic of CS in Epcot, I do have a question for those who have responded. Which counter service do you find to be better. The Japanese Pavilion or Chinese? I really want to get my Japanese or Chinese food fix while I'm there but sometimes those types of cuisine can taste really off depending on where you go. I have some bad Chinese and Japanese food before so I want to know which one is more worth it.

Hi! I've had a much better experience with the Japanese. The Chinese was a bit greasy, and didn't sit well with my BIL (who admittedly has a sensitive stomach.)

Epcot has awesome counter service locations!

I would try the Fish & Chips in UK if you haven't tried it before

OR

I would get a Ham & Cheese Crossaint and a yummy pastry in France. They have other sandwich choices too. This place is amazing for a counter service meal or a snack credit. It's a must do for us, usually multiple times!

We used to enjoy the CS in Japan, but the last time we tried it, we didn't like it as well. The fish & chips in UK is fantastic.

OK... you guys are making me hungry! I have never really thought of trying the fish and chips because it sounds so "generic" to me. What makes it so good? I'm assuming it's not greasy. I love fish...but fried fish w/french fries just sounds like a bit much! BUT... now that you're talking about it, I'm curious!

I recommend the ham and cheese croissant and a dessert in France from the patisserie. I really enjoyed them for lunch on my last trip. I have also eaten at the Norway bakery which was good but I liked France better.

I would not recommend the Chinese. It was generic food court Chinese food. I would recommend Germany, Norway and France.

We loved the Schwarma Platter in Morocco but I understand if it is not your taste. My kids even found out they liked Lamb and tabouleh.

We have tried every counter service in Epcot countries and our family favorite was Morocco followed by The Shogun Platter at the Yakitori House (sadly it no longer comes with tempura shrimp) and then the fish and chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. The pieces of fish were tiny compared to the price but very tasty.

Hope this helps some. :)

Love the fish and chips. We got it during our visit last week, and grabbed a seat near the stage for the British Invasion, and chowed down. Yum!

this is a good one

france has some lovely otions that they will heat up for you - mmmm melty cheese, not to mention the pastries

England - fish and chips, simple and yummy. the chips are the thinker style and malt vinegar

My favorite though is seasons. Love that pork chop :yay:

Wow! Thanks for all the wonderful replies...

I kind of like the idea of walking thru world showcase and letting our noses choose.

The ham and cheese croissants are good and so is the baklava at Tangerine Cafe. Not everything at there is gross. :goodvibes

Well our favorites are Sunshine Seasons and Tangerine Cafe, but after that I guess we'd go with fish and chips or the France.
