Need EP in July?

We are a family of 5, going to WDW in July 15 and separating 2 days for US and IOA.
First time in Universal, my question is do we need Express pass if we want to ride most of the major attractions ? In a day from Rope drop to about 7pm.

It's quite possible but wait until you get there to see how the crowds are. It will be busy but if you get there early, you should be able to do the major attractions w/o too much of a wait.
