I need driving directions from the WL to these restaurants:

Celebration Town Tavern
Texas de Brazil
Giordano's
Charley's Steakhouse & Seafood Grille
Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ

I'm a WDW newbie so I don't know the area AT ALL. I will do fine with street names. Landmarks help but are not neccessary. I don't do well with..."turn left where the road widens and then immediate left at the big tree." Thanks to any and all who help me out here!

I can help with Giordano's. It is located in the Formosa Gardens shopping center. From Disney property, follow signs for 192 and take 192 West. Stay in the left lane. You will go through a few traffic lights before coming to Formosa Gardens Blvd which is at a traffic light. I know you said you don't need landmarks, but just in case, there is a Walgreen's on the near right corner and a Taco Bell on the far left corner. Turn left on Formosa Gardens Blvd. and then turn into the shopping center which is on your right. Giordano's is at the other end of the lot.

The traffic light on 192 before Formosa Gardens is Entry Point/Sherberth. When you pass that, you'll know the next light is the one you need.

That's the website for Celebration tavern. It is in the town of Celebration. I can't give you door to door directions, but to get to Celebration, take 192 East from Disney. You travel about 3/4 of a mile or so and Celebration is on your right. There is an old-fashioned water tower at the entrance to the town. Turn right there and it will lead you into the town. Sorry, but I don't know exactly where the restaurant is.

I can help with directions to the Tavern:

Coming out of WL, cross the intersection at Seven Seas and keep going straight. You will pass the Poly and come to a T - turn left - that's World Drive. You can take that to 192 East, like Steve said. Turn right onto Celebration Avenue and when you get to downtown turn left on Market Street and right on Front Street - the Tavern is on Front Street.

Or if you want to see the Mickey Mouse power poll, take World Drive all the way to the end. You will see the Mickey Mouse power poll on the right. When you get to the end of World Drive, you turn left at the light. That is Celebration Blvd (speed limit 40 mph). Continue past the condos and turn right at the stop sign on Waterside Dr (speed limit 30 mph). When you get to the end of that street, turn left on Celebration Avenue (speed limit 25 mph). The downtown area is around the curve, Market Street is on your right. The Tavern is actually on Front Street. Turn right on Market Street, and right again on Front Street. The Tavern will be on your right. Parking on the street or behind the shops.

Okay, so 192 is more direct. But the power poll is pretty cool.

Thanks!!

Ok, what is the Mickey Mouse power poll? :confused3

You know the towers that carry the high tension power lines? Well, there is one in the shape of a huge Mickey head.

Texas de Brazil is at the Northern end of I Drive. the easiest way is I-4 E to the Sand Lake exit. take a left on I Drive and it's on your left about a mile up.

which Charley's?

:rotfl2: Ohhhh! You mean power POLE. Gotcha! :thumbsup2 I didn't know what the heck that could be.

There are two Giordano's - both not far from Disney. Depending on where you are in the complex this one may be closer. Go out the Downtown Disney road (Hotel Row) to 535. Take a left. Go through the first stop light (wait until it's green!) and take the third drive on the right. Less than 1 mile from DTD. The 192 location is usually a longer distance unless you are staying at OLCC, Westgate or visiting Animal Kingdom that day.

The website says that the Kissimmee location is closest to WDW. I guess that's the one I need. I've come up with these directions (below). Is it ok? I still don't know WHERE on Parkway Blvd it is though (which side of the road, how far down)? Can ya help?

Directions from the WL: Coming out of WL, cross the intersection at Seven Seas Dr. and keep going straight. We’ll pass the Poly and come to a T - turn left - World Drive. To 192 East (Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy). Turn Left on Parkway Blvd.

Thanks, guys!
:thanks:

Correct. There ARE 2 locations according to the website (below). I'm kinda confused about the directions mentioned earlier as they don't mention Apopka Vineland Rd. OR Irlo Bronson Hwy. BTW, I have a AAA Orlando map but it's not complete. Only certain streets/roads are labeled on it. I'm still a bit fuzzy.... :confused3

Adding: PS: We're staying at the WL.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL
(407) 239-8900
12151 S. APOPKA VINELAND RD.

KISSIMMEE, FL
(407) 397-0044
7866 W. IRLO BRONSON HWY.

Thanks, diznygirl. I'm actually using the beginning of your directions for all my offsite restaurant trips. Giordano's has me baffled but I have confirmed that it is indeed in the Formosa Gardens shopping center. I just don't know where the heck it is on the AAA map.

One more question.....Someone else here at the Disboards said awhile back that the Celebration Town Tavern accepted the DDE card (10% discount). Can anyone confirm this?

Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ Location

Kirkman Road / Universal Studios
5818 Conroy Road
Orlando, FL 32835

well worth the visit

Irlo Bronson Hwy is Route 192. And if I'm not mistaken, Apopka Vineland Rd. is Route 535.

Yes. Florida is notorious for giving roads two or three names.

You're much better off taking the Universal/Kirkman Road exit (the right hand one, not the left hand one), turning right to go to I-Drive, then taking a left. It's only a couple miles, but those couple miles on I-Drive can be torture.

We do the same thing here in NJ and also across the river in Philly. I always figured they did that everywhere.

The plaza that Charley's is in comes up really fast on the left. You might actually pass it and have to come at it from the next road - so don't panic.

I've actually heard that the Charley's on OBT (Orange Blossom Trail) is better, but I don't know where that one is.

And last time we were at the Tavern they took the DDE.
