We'd like to eat dinner in Downtown Disney. It's me, DH, DS12, DD8, DD6 and my MIL. The girls really wouldn't be too into the TRex place and my son is probably too old, and we've been to Rainforest Cafe before at home, so I rather do something other than that.

What would you suggest for our party of 6? The kids will eat the basic children's menu fare (chicken fingers, grilled cheese, hot dogs), and won't venture too far from that, unfortunately. :confused3

We went to Planet Hollywood the night we arrived and the food was really good. Lots of neat memorabelia but the music is loud. It is a fun place to eat in DD so we enjoyed it. About the music I guess it didn't bother my kids because my DS5 went to sleep in my lap. We got up that morning at 4am because our flight left at 530 am.:goodvibes

I know you said no to T Rex, but we were just there and the food is good. DS17 thought it was "neat". Hard to please teenagers and I have two. DD said the ribs were great. DH and DS went back the next night while we stayed at MK. It was the best meal we had while we were there. DS said it was the best steak he's had in a long time. He's very particular too.

We had dessert at Goofy's Candy Kitchen which was very fun. It wasn't too bad either price wise. I was shocked actually.

The guys did enjoy Planet Hollywood on other visits too.

We were just at Trex last Monday and it was really pretty, very interesting, and the food was pretty good too. I took DD17 and her BFF!!! :confused3 Our other favorite is House of Blues!! We love it there!!! They have the best ribs and their fries are seasoned differently than I've had before and they were awesome!!! We even spent my last b-day there;) We went to Planet Hollywood last summer and were not impressed!! I'll go to Trex and HoB anyday!!! YUM!!!

Thanks for the suggestions!! How do I make reservations for T-Rex, if we go there? It's not through Disney Dining, is it??

My vote would be for Bongos Cuban Cafe. We ate there in November and I thought it was the best meal of the trip. Surprisingly yummy and you can get fried sweet plantains!! It's a bit loud, but the inside is very pretty and they have a band.

Another vote for Raglan Road! It has a really neat pub atmosphere, food is great and the portions are huge! Also unlike any other food you will see on property. Kids can do fish and chips or burgers.

We had a delicious dinner at Earl of Sandwich and the kids were so full that they didn't even want ice cream at Ghiradelli's:)

Fultons Crab House, omigod the food there is to die for and they have a very large kids menu too. We ate there in Oct and had an incredible meal, we are booked there again for our Jan and March trip and probably our Oct one too!

We like Planet Hollywood. It is really neat in there, the food rocks and they have the nicest servers at Disney IMO.

You should be able to make reservations through Disney Dining.

I think the only DTD TS on the DDP this year is Cap'n Jacks, but that could change.

We liked WolfGang Puck's and Planet Hollywood is really good too, but you can go there anywhere in the country.

I called, and Disney said I'd have to make res through the restaurant directly. I called the restaurant, and they said they'll start taking reseverations starting Jan 5th. This was about 6 weeks ago, unless something's changed.

Hope that helps!

Correct. Disney Dining has their direct number. They were only taking walk ups when we were there. Reservations start in January.

Earl of Sandwich is another fave of us. It was packed at Christmas. 20+ people in line. Good food though and not very expensive.

I can't recommend Goofy's Candy Kitchen for dessert enough. We had four treats...3 of the huge oreo fudge cookies and DH had a huge Mickey rice krispie treat...all for $14 and dipped in various chocolate coatings, etc. Yummo!

Another vote for Raglan Road! Very fun atmosphere - Irish music, dancing etc. Good food - both for the adults and those wanting "kid fare." Note you can make reservations with Raglan Road directly using opentable.com

Also like Earl of Sandwich -- but it gets very crowded and is a "fast food set-up"-- you go through the line, order your food and then take it on a tray to find a place to sit. But the food is very good! :thumbsup2

PP is correct about reservations at Trex. They will start on 1/5 by calling the restaurant directly. We were a walk up and only waited a couple minutes.

The food at Wolfgang Puck Express was fantastic! We have three kids and there was no food left on any plates! :yay:
