My parents are 59 and will be going to Disney shortly. Considering they spend more time restaurant hopping during vacations than anything else, I want to make sure that they enjoy their meals.

Both of them are your typical "meat and potatoes" type eaters, meaning that they don't go for real fancy dishes with exotic names or from exotic locations. For the most part, they enjoy typical American dishes as well as Italian (My dad is a big pasta eater).

The last time they visited Disney for a short trip, the one restaurant that they visited and totally enjoyed was Whispering Canyons.

Does anyone have suggestions?

My parents loved California Grill (its a 2TS however)

are they going on the DIning Plan? Where do they live? Where are they staying? Beer or Wine?

Rose and Crown
Le Cellier
Mama Melrose

WolfGang Pucks

They are staying at Ft. Wilderness. They are not big drinkers but will have the occasional glass of wine with dinner. I was definitely thinking to suggest Mama Melrose to them, and I have heard some good things about the steak at Le Cellier. Thanks!

I would suggest this
In MK- Tony's
In DHS- 50's Prime Time
In Epcot- Tutto, LC, Coral Reef
In CR- Wave
In Poly- Kona Cafe
In GF- G F Cafe

I was going to suggest the Trails End buffet if they like meat and potatoes, and then I see they are staying at the campground. I have read dining reviews that say the food there is basic, Southern cooking, like fried chicken and potatoes.

We are in similar age group and last year took some friends who are "meat and potatoes" type of people (my husband and I are much more adventurous). This was very stressful for me in planning as I was not sure what a meat and potatoes person would like at WDW.

The places we took them that they really enjoyed were 50's PTC, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Le Cellier, Coral Reef. Their favorite, by far, was 50's PTC.

The places we took them that they did not care for were Jiko, Boma, Ca Grill, Flying Fish, Yak n Yeti.

I would add Tutto Italia to your list since your dad likes pasta, in addition to meat and potatoes.

Places my parents loved were: Narcoossee's, Coral Reef, Kona, and Mama Melrose.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe downstairs (the one across from the Virgin store in DD) has a great meatloaf dinner. My husband must have it every trip.

Another vote for Kona Cafe. Also the Grand Floridian Cafe. These were my parents favorite. They also enjoyed Spoodles and then a leisurely walk and people watching on the boardwalk.

'Ohana for dinner.

It is my 67yo. father's favorite meal. He loves it!

My dad, meat & potatoes, no spices, no sauces and plain boiled veggies on the side. He is very hard to dine with :scared1:

He enjoyed 50's prime time

Beaches & Cream

Beach Club Cape Mae Clam Bake ( he liked the mashed potatoes and meat)

Thanks everyone! This is a great list to start from! I really appreciate your help!!!!

I'll suggest, they may try Ohana, Le Cellier, Mama Melrose or Coral Reef. We had a great time in those place. :thumbsup2

Have a nice and safe trip coming. :)
