Need deviled egg recipe, no pickle

I use Miracle Whip, too and sometimes a touch of sour cream. The best part that really makes 'em different is bacon, fried and chopped fine!!

I get lots of requests for my deviled eggs. Here is my "recipe" . . .

Hard boiled eggs
Mayonnaise
Mustard (not as much mustard as I have of mayonnaise)
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder

The Garlic Powder really adds to the eggs! Yumm! :flower:

The eggs have to be old. They cannot be "farm fresh" eggs and peel easily. I buy my eggs and let them age in my fridge for a couple of weeks before I hard boil them.

And I once read that adding vinegar to the water while boiling can help a "little".

hellman's
touch of mustard
salt and pepper to taste
sprinkle with paprika

I haven't had any problem peeling hard boiled eggs since I started rolling them on the counter or table while gently tapping them. This method causes the shell to break in to smaller pieces and the inner membrane holds them together as you peel the shell from the cooked egg.

Thanks everyone for the peeling tips! I know for a fact that I always use fresh from the store eggs, so I need to keep a better stock of eggs at home, in order to let them age.

So I should buy the eggs tomorrow for the 4th of July.... ;)

My kids may be a little disappointed when the peeling process goes smoother, since they love eating the "ugly" eggs after they're peeled!

well, I just fiinshed my eggs, I do not let them get old....I just bought mine..sorry, I need mine fresh!I boiled a dozen..and kept in frig over night. this makes a huge difference to peel. I just tap all aorund then jpeel, not a problem! then I wash them off with cold water, and paper towel dry. then slice and mix up yokes!!
I add miracle whip also, mustard, pepper and salt, just a tad of onion powder,a pinch of sugar, mix and fill! then I top them with paprika.........yummy

Hey man, I am just posting here so I can track back someday when I need a good recipe! heh heh heh heh
Dang, now i too am hungry for deviled eggs (need some beano first though!

I've never heard that about adding salt or vinegar to help soften the eggs. I'll have to try that.

I use miracle whip, mustard, salt and pepper for my deviled eggs, and use a pastry decorator to fill the egg white halves. I sprinkle them with paprika. Its really cheap and easy and gets rave reviews.
