My sister and I were planning a girls (and kids) only trip from Dec 4 through about the 10-12. I hadn't booked yet and was trying to find a room and discovered most resorts seem to be booked. I cant get a room at POFQ or POR for example. Nor almost villa at OKW, yet the next week Dec 11- 17 has open availability for almost every resort.

I know Mousefest is going on during that time (most events seems to be at the cruise lines though). The lady I called and talked to gave me an off hand remark that Disney is always busy and there are no other events going on so I should just not worry about it. But it doesn't seem right that that one week is so busy while the next week isn't.

Now we are worried that our vacation during quiet time isn't going to be quiet. We'd like to change weeks but my sister has already purchased her Xmas party tickets for the first week.

Can you get a refund for the those tickets? Should we change or do you suspect that the next week will fill up to?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I believe that time frame is when the Pop Warner kids and the cheerleaders come down. That takes up a lot of resort room at the values and some moderates. And this is a very popular time of year with the DVC folks. But, the Pop Warner kids don't impact the parks too much. I was there from Dec 12-17 in 2003 and I was really only aware of the kids at my resort..AllStarMusic and even then it wasn't an issue..just more dancing and cheering girls!!!
If you can snag a reservation I say go for it. You'll have a great time. I don't believe the passes are 'returnable' but you could call and ask.

WDW Decemeber 4th -12 staying at OKW.I know many of us (DVC) go in early December because it saves many points vs later in the month. You do have many of the Pop Warner football folks that week also.We have been going first or second week of December each year since 1992.The crowds have picked up a little each year it seems. That said it is still great time to visit with MVMCP,CP,Osborne Lights and holiday decorations and shows.Crowds are still not bad and you can see and do much with a little wait. This was like a secret time to visit for a long while but seems the secret is out of the bag some.I do know OKW is all booked up at this time of year and if it wasn't our home resort and able to book at 11 month window we would have a tough time getting room there first part of Decemeber. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

We go that week almost every year for the past 5 yrs. It is not crowded in the parks at all. The weekends will have an increase in attendance. My SIL just looked at our video from last year she couldn't believe how empty it was. We've only seen maybe 3 or 4 small groups of Pop Warner kids in the parks. They do close MGM early one night for Pop Warner I think it was Friday night. Have a good trip!

How bad are the value hotels w/ the Pop Warner crews? We are staying at PC 12/7-12/12. Are flight tix's are non-refundable. And moderate we could swing, but rather save the $( we are only paying $62.00 a night @ PC). Help!!!

We go the first week of December every year. We stay out of MK on Saturday and seem to do okay. If you really want quiet, go the last week of January. No decorations or parties, but you can walk on everything.

We booked the 11th through the 17th because we wanted to avoid the Pop Warner and MouseFest crowds. Not to say that it will be that crowded from those events, but the week we have booked it more open at this point. Depending on the rumored package deal that is coming out, this could change.
