Presidents week 2006

Hi all,

Need help on this one please.

I am wondering if anyone, has experienced the crowd levels Presidents week 2006

We will be there Sunday 2-19 thru Thursday 2-24 staying off site, as the VISTANA Resorts.

We are so nervous about the crowds, that I have been studying the crowd charts non stop.

Should I make reservations now for a resturant in Epcot World Mexco now or wait till we get there? Anyone eat there was it good?

Monday Sea World
Tuesday Magic Kingdom
Wednesday EPCOT
Thursday universal

I will welcome any suggestions, as well as negative.

Thank you for any advice.

Patricia

I would definitely make any and all ressies asap. It is crowded. There is no way around it. Saturdays and Sundays are the most crowded days, especially at MK, so your plan looks good. Just keep in mind that it is a busy time and you probably won't be able to do everything. Just makes it necessary to plan another trip :cool1: ;)

We have gone to WDW the last four years in Feb (right before pres. week)
We are usually there the week before. In fact, we will be there this year from 2/10 through 2/19. When I called to book the room I was told that we could get what we wanted for our dates but for anything after and including 2/19 everything was booked solid.

We have always been pleasantly surprised that our week is not too overcroweded.

I just called today and got dinner resv for Valentines day at Tony's at MK. I was surprised that I could get ADRs for the time we needed too. That was a plus. But i would definitely agree with the idea of getting your resv. NOW. Your week is going to be busy.

Thank you for the advice, I will call today.

Does anyone know if the Wonders of Life is open Presidents Week?

Evertime we go it has been closed. Have a 11 year DD that is need to watch the making of me.

Thanks again

Patricia

Wonders of Life Pavillion is closed. It wasnt even open over Thanksgiving.

There is a huge baton twirling event at Disney over Presidents Day weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday...Friday there are girls in the Spectromagic parade, Saturday is competition, but the rest of the competitors will be in the Share a Dream Come True parade on Saturday afternoon. That means once Competition is over, they will all head over to MK. Sunday is awards at the Beauty & the Beast stage, so Im betting lots of girls will be in MGM that day.

We are going.. and I cant wait. I read somewhere that although Pres Weekend is crowded, its not as bad as Thanksgiving.. so Im hoping thats true. Ive made it through 3 thanksgivings at Disney, and it wasnt bad. So if its better than that, I will be happy!!

Purtypat1, We will be there from 2/12-2/17. Interestingly I think getting ADRs depends alot on where and when you are eating. Yesterday I made ADR for Whispering Canyon for Sun 2/12. They were booked solid until 7 except the last ressie I took at 5:20/ I slept on it and decided to check availablity for the next night and everything is open. I am thinking everyone will be at MK on Sun, hop the boat to WL and go back for late EMH. We won't go to MK on sun for sure! I called for adrs at Biergarten in Epcot for Tues lunch on the 14th and they are wide open. You can always make ressies and cancel them. Your schedule looks great. Have fun.

Anyone do the Hoop-Dee-Doo??? Was it fun, how was the food??

We have reservations, & hoping to have fun.

Thanks

Patricia

We go President's week every year and are leaving on the 17th. It is very crowded and I always make ADR's. I've seen many people turned away because restaurants are full. Do you know where you would like to eat at Epcot? LeCellier is very hard to get into that week if you don't have an ADR. I also read that Teppanyaki was booked for some of those nights as well.

We did Hoop De Do last year and thought it was great! The kids had a blast!

I would make an ADR for Epcot quick! :yay:

We were there last year for the week after Pres Day. It seemed to get less crowded Tues thru Thur and then picked up again. We used Fast pass and didn't feel as if there were any unbearable lines. We are hoping to do it again next year - just can't pull the middle schooler out of school anymore!!

Very crowded. We are locals and try to avoid crowds. Accidentally planned a day there last President's Weekend and almost left

I figured it would be crowded with schools out - but we're going towards the end of that week - 2/23 - 2/28.......hopefully will be ok??? :confused3

Last time we went was end of June 2004 - and of course was extremely crowded - but still had a ball.

We are going then too  I am hoping that the crowds will start thinning out too ;)

You will have crowds. Good luck.
