We've mostly stayed onsite, but am considering offsite for our next trip.

We need a unit (condo/suite) for 6 - 4 of these are 19-22 yr olds. Even though we may have a car we must have a place that offers shuttle so the older kids can get to and from.

I see lots of suggestions for Windsor and others. Fort Wilderness cabins would be about the only onsite I would consider and then that would be crowded. Also considered Doubletree Suites in Downtown Disney. The bigger kids have been multiple times so they could walk to DTD or take the shuttles without a problem.

Would appreciate any suggestions for other offsite rentals that offer a shuttle and might accomodate 5 adults/1 child.

Thanks

relability shuttles and offsite - don't go together.

now there are several places that have shuttles - but generally 2 to 3 times in the morning (if that often) and 3 to 4 times at night (if that often).

also the morning seems to be only going to the parks.

the night seems to be only leaving the parks.

here is best western lakeside shuttle schedule - and it goes once in the morning to each park

also with shuttles if your teens missed the last shuttle - you would still have to come get them or they would have to pay for a taxi.

some hotels share with others the shuttle - so you could also be talking about multiple stops before getting to the parks.

now the dtd area is a little different. the dtd buses come every half hour. they are pretty good. so would definitely still kept Doubletree Suites in DTD.

here are the other dtd hotels.

only the hilton has EMH.

hey cp is now on travelzoo....

It's been a few years, but we found the DTD hotel buses very reliable and on time on their schedule. They do park further away from the entrance to each park, but it's easily doable, and your teens should be fine. They could also take buses to DTD and walk to the Doubletree (assuming they're young and healthy ;) ) The Hotel Blvd buses are even more comfortable than the Disney ones.

I was thinking about the Doubletree as well. Note that there are no direct buses between DTD and the parks; you must transfer at a resort.

If the teens are willing/able to take cabs, that would open up other offsite options.

Thanks for the responses.

I do realize about the DTD transportation only going to hotels. These kids have been enough times that they could get off at CR and walk to MK, etc. But they are BIG kids (5'10 - 6'4). I just don't see us in the Best Western link shown above. And if we did the Doubletree, I'm thinking I'd have to have the two bedroom (King and two doubles).

Just wondering if anyone had experienced anything else that might work.

Thanks again
