Hi! I'm researching for a potential trip for my parents. They'd come in on a Friday (Jan 19) and leave on a Tuesday (Jan 23), so that's four days lodging. They're planning on only one to two days at Disney (mom wants to see Animal Kingdom for sure) and one day at Sea World.

They'll have a rental car. Proximity to attractions doesn't much matter; I think they're going for a more relaxed vacation. On the other hand I can't see them wanting an hour long freeway drive or anything like that.

I've got the VRBO link to check prices, but I'm unclear on what's where, which properties are good/bad, etc. Two adults looking for a clean safe condo or hotel with a mini-kitchen at the very minimum. Simple, basic, cost-effective is the key.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!

I wouldn't do vbro for 4 days.

The Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista is near downtown disney. Nice Marriott suite hotel with full breakfast.

Senior discount if over 62. Easy drive to Seaworld from this hotel, too. Right out of the parking lot, couple miles and follow signs. No inteestate to take.

I second Cypress Pointe!

I would check out the timeshare user group forum. They have all kinds of info. www.tugbbs.com/forums/

We own at Vacation Village at Parkway and it has fabulous units. Just make sure that you get the large one bedroom with the full kitchen (approx 1000 sq ft) the smaller one bedrooms are only 500 sq ft. They are located just off irlo bronson memorial and very close to Disney. I checked really quick and you can get it nightly for about $95 per night. Cheaper if you know anyone who is a member of RCI and can get you a good deal with a guest certificate ;) .

For a short stay and just the two of them, I'd go for a Homewood Suites or Residence Inn. They can have their morning breakfast and afternoon snacks along with daily maid service.

They're now definitely going; I found a deal on airfare yesterday and they decided to book it. Mom's still got her heart set on a condo. They travel quite a bit, and they RV quite a bit, so they're used to quick trips like this which involve cooking, grocery stops, etc. and absolutely looooooove condo staying vs hotel even if it is a bit more.

Mom is going to consider a hotel with hot breakfast buffet though, so I'll check those out you mentioned. Otherwise Cypress Pointe looks pretty good. I'll check out TUG too.

Thanks everyone!

Hi,

I've stayed at both the Residence Inn and Cypress Pointe. They are not too far from each other. The RI has better soundproofing and much more comfortable beds.

We are leaving next Saturday and are staying in a 1 bedroom condo at Sheraton Vistana Villages. It had some great reviews and the pictures look fantastic. Can't wait and they weren't that expensive I think about $111/night. They are also close to SeaWorld and Disney.

that is over on ID. not to far - both CP and Sheraton Vistana Resort are closer.

Yes the Village is new - they were still building it last I heard.

I just found out yesterday that the Hampton Inn Maingate West is now Meridian Palms. It is scheduled to open the first week of Dec. We need a place to stay on Dec.29 after leaving CP, so I'm going to try it. I really liked it when it was the Hampton. It has a "mini" kitchen and free breakfast. You can get a good rate through hotelkingdom.
