Hi
I live in Southern CA and have an annual pass but I need a cheap hotel across the street from from park like around $50 to $60 a night.
Disneyland kicks my *** now that I'm older and instead of going all the way home (about 90 minute drive) and going back the next day to finish the night stuff I'd rather just spend the night but don't want to spend an arm and a leg doing it.
I don't want a roach motel either just want something descent to lay my head at night and maybe in the afternoon too.

Do you need it to be right across the street? Or is a bit further away an option at all?

If right across the street is negotiable, I have named my own price and stayed at the Marriott Suites and Hyatt Regency for about $50 a night.

$50 to $60 does not give many options. Hojo at the entertainment rate(you can get this rate with and AP) is as low as $59 when available. The Anahiem Plaza has rooms as low as $49. The Castle Inn and Suites starts in that range.

Of course there is 17% tax and sometimes parking fees on top.

$40 on Priceline will often get you on of the two Ramadas, each about a 15-20 walk away.

Super 8 on Disneyland Dr. is not across tje street, at all :D if you can get HOJO for the retro rate, go for it! But if you don't Super8 is 5-10 min. walk to the Mickey & Friends Parking tram.. If you write to them, you can get a great price! I got about $50/night INCL. tax!
Blue Boy on Katella is old & ugly, but if you just want a place to sleep, you can get it for about $30-40/night. It's not fancy at all, but friendly staff and clean rooms. It's about 10-15 min to DL.

I just recently booked the Plaza Inn for $79 a night during spring break..but then I upgraded to the Tropicana because of wanting to be closer for my son and the rate was decent.

I am paying $59 at the desert inn and suites. Booked that rate months ago and notice same dates are now $109. Book directly on thier site and book early!!

Depending on when you're going, "cheap" and "across the street" don't really go together!

Summer I can't even find anything reasonable across the street. Cheapest is that Quality Inn that's kind of behind the Hojo's and Fairfield Inn. And that's still $90.

I think you'll have to go a bit further than across the street. Maybe to the Super 8 or Motel 6 nearby.

My friends were at the Anabelle yesterday for $85 a night. Its on Katella walking distance to DTD and the parks. $50 would be a really good deal!! good luck. Let us know what you find.

Many people like to stay at the Desert Inn and Suites that is right across the street from Disneyland. Another possible choice would be the Candy Cane Inn, for it too is very popular with many here. The rates for both from what I have seen are reasonable, and depend highly upon the season, and if booking early.

Depending on your dates the Anaheim Desert Inn can be really cheap. Last November I paid $99 per night for a 4 bed suite that would sleep 8 people. For a room with only 2 beds I think it would have cost me $59.

It is located right at the cross walk on Harbor so it only took about 5 minutes to get to the turnstiles for either park. Plus it had a free breakfast (cereal, toast, fruit, pastries, coffee, milk and juice)

It was nothing fancy but it wasn't a roach motel either.

I just booked the Motel 6 for March at $56 a night and the ART stops right in front. Hope that helps, enjoy your mouse time!

Cnady Cane Inn is way too expensive. I don't mind walking a little bit, like distance to Candy Cane Inn walking but thats about it.
I believe Best Western Park Place Inn had a good rate but I am unsure where it is
Also the Ramada at Convention Center also had a good rate but I am unsure the distance that is

If you got a good rate at the BWPPI I would quickly take it. That Best Western is the closest you are going to get to the parks without staying at the Grand Californian Hotel.

Try the Alpine Motel. Not across the street,,but inexpensive and gets the job done. :thumbsup2
(call direct btw)

we always stay at super 8. It's at katella and harbor. Just spent 3 nights there. Art shuttles take you straight to Disneyland. They are 4.00 for an all day pass or 10.00 for a three day pass. You can use the shuttle as much as you want with the day pass. The parking is free there and they let you keep your car there the day u check out if u are planning on going to the park. They also have a nice pool and spa. Easy walk to Garden walk to get food. I recomend Fire and Ice if you have never been there. ALL YOU CAN EAT AND THEY MAKE WHAT EVER YOU WANT INFRONT OF YOU INSTEAD OF A NORMAL BUFFET. yOU pick the ingredients you want.

I have stayed at several mega cheap-o motels surrounding the park. My experiences:

Super 8 at Katella and Harbor: $55 a night after tax, large property, kind of retro-ey 70's style rooms. No in room fridge or microwave. Alright bathroom, pretty large room with descent bed. Crappy pillows. Pretty good continental breakfast. On site laundry. Wifi.

Rodeway Inn at Ball and West: $45 a night. 1.2 mile walk to the gates or 3/4 mile to the trams. Returning to the hotel from the gate, you can take the tram, then cross M&F on the Daisy level and exit through the employee exit, and you are there (you cannot enter via the gate). This is a no frills motel, however they have new beds that are quite comfortable. Everything else was just ok. Not bad, not great. Shrinkwrapped muffins for breakfast. Wifi. Advertised hot tub does not exist, and even if it did the location of it sucks. This hotel and the next one are both across the street from an AMPM which sells normal priced items as well as beer.

Budget Inn at Ball and Disneyland. $60 a night. Same walking scenario as the Rodeway Inn, just closer to Disneyland Drive. Huge room, balcony, large bed but its pretty hard, and the pillows are pretty bad. Large bathroom. Crappy bathroom amenities. Nice pool. Honestly, this is hands down my fave cheap-o so far. Can't beat the large room and balcony. The property also felt clean.

Hope this helps!

If you use priceline and book a few weeks (maybe 3) before your stay, you can get some really good deals. I got the Hilton Double Tree in Orange for 49.00 per night using that. I could "tell" what hotel we were getting by using a few techniques I learned online. I could see that it was a 3.5 star hotel with a shuttle (I knew that shuttle took you to Disneyland).

If you want to learn how to break the code of priceline (figuring out which hotel they are offering you without knowing the name) there are a few websites out there that can help you.

I have a feeling that the motel you saw listed for the good price that was a Best Western was not BWPPI--it was more likely BW Stovalls or Raffles. Those are more of a walk to the parks.

If you don't go with one of the name-your-own price sites, the only ones I have seen really in that price range are:
  • Quality Inn (the one on Manchester, I always forget the exact name) - they have a small resort and parking fee. I think these added up to an additional $6/night. I believe we paid $290 for 4 nights.
  • Super 8 (the one on Katella) - no extra fees! We paid $205 for 4 nights
  • HOJO - if you can get the AP Retro rate, as low as $59 a night (+ taxes, but no parking/resort fee)
  • Desert Inn & Suites - they start at $59/night, but have $4 resort fee and $8 parking fee
  • Del Sol - I don't know them well enough to say where there prices start, but I have a kid's suite reserved for $67/night + parking, resort & safe fee ($14.15/night). They give an AP discount
  • Anaheim Plaza - the lowest I've seen their rates is $59 + they have some additional fees. I think they were between $5-$10/night (I haven't stayed there)
  • It seems like I've seen Alpine Inn with a reasonable starting rate as well, but I've always been able to find a better rate with one of the ones above.
