Hi there. My DH and I have the "bug" to go back to Disney. We were there 7/2-7/10 at the Beach Club and our AP's are calling our name. So we decided we would call and see if we could use the EXI code and get a discount for Labor Day weekend. Guess what? We were able to get CBR for $89 rate. Here's the deal though. We haven't stayed at a moderate since 1999. Been "going deluxe." However, this is a spur of the moment trip and we really don't have the money to blow on a deluxe.

We've stayed at CBR twice. Once in 1996 and again in 1998. We liked it a lot. We've also stayed at CSR, liked it a little better but they didn't have any rooms left for $89. So, I'd like to hear any and all CBR reviews from people who have recently been. And, I'd like to hear from any deluxers out there who have gone back and stayed at a moderate and enjoyed it. I was thinking we could do it for a long weekend trip.

Let me hear from you - good and bad stuff!!

Thanks,

PamNC

I suggest reading the 2 CBR FAQ's listed below. You will find lots of trip reviews.

We love CBR, I've stayed there 3 times I think. I would stay there at that price, no doubt. The rooms at CBR are the largest of all the moderates- they are the same size as the rooms at the WL in fact.

We've always had awesome mousekeepers at CBR- lots of towel critters. I like the island theme at CBR (the other mod's don't appeal to me) and their food court is awesome.

I have pictures and comments from our CBR stays in 2001 and 2002. Click the link below, in my signature, scroll down a bit to 2001 and the CBR logo :)

Wow - Seaspray - how helpful. Thank you. Great pics. You too safety mom. I'm starting to get a bit excited here....

Anyone else?

CBR was my first "on site" stay, so it will always hold a special place in my heart!

However, it was great on it's own merit! We stayed in Jamaica, and for 2 adults, no kiddos yet, we thought it was a great location. The walk across to Old Port Royale was maybe 5 minutes, but we also got to enjoy the lagoon right outside our building, etc. Parking lot was also very convenient, and the buses at that time picked up/dropped off at Jamaica first.

We will definitely return to CBR one of these days - it's a great resort! (Just doing the whole "want to try every resort that interests me" thing, so we can find our favorites!)

I've only stayed on-site twice (Wyndham Palace doesn't count), both times at CBR, in 1990 and just this May. I love it there; of course, I have no other WDW properties to compare it to.

I thought the food court was very good, for a food court. The tropical theming is nice. The main pool is great but I actually prefer the quiet pool within my own village. In 1990 (the year before we were married) we stayed in Aruba and it felt like a short-enough walk to Old Port Royale. In May we paid extra for a preferred location because we now have 2 pre-schoolers and we wanted to be close to OPR -- we stayed in Trinidad North. At first I was disappointed in out Trinidad North room location (3340) because it seemed to be about as far from OPR as you can get. On the other hand, it was about as close to the Trinidad North bus stop as you can get, which was a very nice perk.

And by the way, there's no such thing as which bus stop is always first or last, as there are two or three different routes the buses take based upon where they are going to/coming from. I will remind you, though, that Trinidad South is fairly remote and is easily the farthest from OPR. That's either great or a great pain, depending on what you like.

Congrats on the rate, and ENJOY!

Thanks to everyone for the comments. Great info and pics. However, we've decided to cancel and hold off going again until Thanksgiving. We're pushing it financially to go again so soon. So let it be said that if anyone out there wants to go, I'm getting ready to cancel my AP ressie of $89.00 for 9/2 - 9/5. It'll be back in the ol' reservation system for the taking.

Next thing I have to do is find that October/November Code watch thread...I need to subscribe to it. We'll probably go Thanksgiving or the day before and stay through the weekend. 4 nights. Went 8 nights in July. These AP's are "burning a hole" in my pocket. I just gotta' go back. We'll do another 8 night trip next year but I don't think I can wait that long.
