We just got a great Ding rate from Indy to Tampa for our trip in November. In fact we saved over $200 on the lowest Southwest rate that I had found into Orlando. Now the problem is we have never flown into Tampa before so I thought I would ask you all who is the best to use there. We usually use National out of Orlando but their rates are terrible and they are offsite. If any one has any suggestions or great codes that would be wonderful.

As a business traveller, I fly into Tampa almost weekly..next flight ETA 2 Hours :)

Car Rentals at Tampa are a breeze and usually some of the lowest rates around. For the last 3 weeks, my rate as been $12-$14 PER DAY for a Compact (although I've been bumped to a mini van twice now).

There are a number of onsite rental agencies (no need to take a shuttle to the car!!!) and your best bets for the lowest rates are:

Thrifty
Dollar
Enterprise

National, Alamo and Hertz are also onsite, but they will be the higher rates.

I would recommend going to orbitz and do a search on Rental for TPA for the dates you are travelling. I've used a number of different online sites and I just like the way they present the options.

Hope this helps and have a good trip.

i just reserved a mini van from alamo $249 a week - before taxes. (nov 23 starting date) out of tampa. on their website look in "hot deals" there is a code = QVW. good luck and keep looking everywhere, daily. last year the same week i got a mini van from dollar for $194. (before taxes). good luck. let me know if you come up with a good rate elsewhere.

Thanks for the code. I will check it out and let you know if I find anything else good. So far the cheapest I have found is through Thrifty. Our dates (Nov 25 - Dec 4) are just after you so I will let you know. Our problem is the 2 extra days over a week are making it so much more expensive.

Sounds like a great deal. We just booked Chicago Midway to Tampa for our early November trip. We like you have never flown into Tampa but I booked the rental with Dollar through Southwests web site with one of the discount codes that I found on the web and I think the rate is about $ 270 for 8 days with an SUV. We are flying and renting a car for less than it would cost to drive down in our conversion van. :Pinkbounc

Do you just need to get from Tampa airport to WDW? If so, there's a code on Mousesavers and I just checked it out and it came in at $204.44!! That included tax.

Ooops, sorry. I didn't realize you needed it the whole time. You're right, it is expensive when you add the last couple of days!

We're actually doing the same thing, into Tampa and out of Orlando, on the same days.

Enjoy!

After looking again I realized that $270.00 was for a week and than an extra $46.00 for the extra day. The biggest think are all the taxes and fees. They add almost another $100.00. I booked through the Southwest Airlines website and used the Kiss2 code.

Good Luck,

John
