Need booking helpfor HH.

I need some help. I am pretty new to Disboards (been a member awhile, but don't frequent here, although I should..LOL) and I need some advice.
We have 328 points for this year. 128 are to be used by Dec. (Our home is VWL)
We had not made a vacation res. this year (first one ever!) because of finances. Now we think we can do a HH vacation, but now that we can there is NOTHING available. We really want to go for 6 nights the second half of June, but three of the nights are not available.
So here is my question.
1) What are the chances of us getting those nights before I have to cancel to save points?

2) Are there people out there willing to trade "liquid" points for a reservation already made for HH?

3) Does anyone have another idea? LOL.

Its possible units are available for cash stays even when none are available for point stays. Have you asked MS to see if any of those 3 nights are available on cash? They sometimes even offer 25% discounts on cash stays for DVC members.

We wanted to do a quick weekend trip to HHI in a studio in February but only 1 of the 2 nights we wanted were available on points. We asked about cash stays and the same size unit was availabe for the same dates paying cash. We even got the 25% discount so the studio only cost us something like $82/night which was cheaper than any of the local hotels we looked at.

HH is busiest during June, July and August. While cancellations can still happen, the likelyhood diminishes each day - especially for a reservation less then 8 weeks away.

You can certainly post a request on the DVC Rent/Trade Board about the dates you want, but in most cases those making HH reservations for the summer months are planning their own summer vacation. You actually might be able to find something for your dates at WDW.

If you have points you know you won't be able to otherwise use before they expire you might want to try to rent them on the DVC Rent/Trade Board. Just be sure to read the informational threads at the top of the board.
