I'm in the search of a good quality blender that isn't going to break the bank. I've looked at a few Ninja ones on QVC but haven't made up my mind which one to get.

Is Ninja as good as they seem on tv? If so, which one do you have?

I'm going in for surgery in the next few months and will have a liquid diet pre-op and post-op followed by a pureed diet for a while.

Please give me any pros/cons on your blender.

I have a Breville and I love it.
Pro: bottom doesn't unscrew so no leakage-it's all one piece
Con: a bit expensive but I used a Bed Bath & Beyond coupon

We just bought a Ninja last month at Costco. It was $169 It came with 3 smoothie cups, a large blender vessel, a food processor vessel with the blades, a dough maker attachment.
We love it.
I can't keep fruit in the house anymore, we are constantly making smoothies.
It works so great. I had a cuisenart we replaced, no comparison. The blade on the ninja is a 1000 times stronger than my cuisenart.

Ninja worth every penny. My husband wanted to get the Vitamix, I'm so glad I told him that we should try the Ninja first and if we didn't like it, we would exchange it for the Vitamix.

I got a refurbished Cuisinart blender with food processor attachment from Overstock.com for $65. It works very well and I have been happy with it, but what I really use most is my immersion blender. I can make smoothies directly in my plastic cups and I love being able to purée a soup in the same pan I am cooking it in.

I have a Blendtec and really love it. It can blend anything perfectly smooth and really fast. My daughter-in-law got one of the Ninja blenders and says while it works fine for most things, it is not as good as my Blendtec for getting things perfectly smooth. I can make a sauce with cashews, for example, and it blends to be very creamy. When she does the same in her Ninja, it tastes gritty. But it works fine for say, a fruit smoothie.

I have the Ninja BL770 Blender & Food Processor, Mega Kitchen System. I had head and neck cancer and swallowing has been a problem for me, due to side effects during and after treatment. Liquid nutrition has been a big part of my diet for seven years. Before I got my ninja, I had a HealthMaster, which was not as good as this Ninja. I have never had a vitamix, because they're out of my budget, but I have read on different cancer sites that they offer a discount if it's a medical necessity, with proof.

This is the one I have:

Anyway, I like my Ninja. I use the two individual cups the most, at least 5x a week. I do not often use things with seeds to make smoothies, sometimes I do use some nuts. When I do make things with nuts or seeds, I like to put them in with just a tiny bit of liquid, and give them a good pre-blitz, and then I add the rest of my ingredients and ice for the final blitz. But I have always needed my drinks extremely smooth, so it could go through my peg tube, or even when I drink, because of my severe stricture. Cannot have anything getting stuck in the tube, or in my throat.

I use the bigger pitcher to purée soups, mostly. I also use it to make a potato pancake recipe. I'd say I use it a couple of times a month. Haven't had any issues with it.

I use the mixer one on the rare occasions that I bake, since it has both a sharp blade and a mixing blade. I also use it to mix up my meatball ingredients well.

I don't really have any cons, it's worked very well for me. I think I've had it for two years now. I was able to get a really good sale, and paid a little less than $100 for it.

we have a vitamix and it is awesome. Expensive, but worth it. We got ours at Costco for about $400.

I went "fiddle in the middle," not cheap but not real expensive either. I read tons of reviews and ended up going with the Oster Versa 1100 series. It comes with big pitcher, smaller pitcher, food processor and two smoothies cups. My girls make smoothies several times a week with it. So nice because you just unscrew the blade, pop on the top and go. I've used the blender part for soups and it's great for that. My experience has always been with cheapy blenders and because of that I never bothered to pull them out. This one sits on the counter and gets used all the time.

I got a Ninja a year ago from Costco. Pro Ultima something? I don't know, lol. Anyway, it is still going strong and dh and I both use it. I highly recommend the Ninja brand.

We LOVE our VitaMix - Got ours with a coupon from Williams Sonoma.

Have not used any current Ninja blenders... but just don't see how they could begin to compare.

I have the Cuisinart blending/chopping system which I purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond with a coupon. I ordered some extra cups with regular lids directly from cuisinart. I've been using it for a 3 or 4 years to make shakes with ice with no problems. I like that I mix the drink right in the cup so there's less clean up. I haven't used the chopping blade but the blender jar is big enough for most of my blending needs. No joke, I was just telling DH that it's my favorite small appliance.

I have a Ninja and I love it. Mine isn't the full package pictured above, it was just a blender and came with a small single serving cup I could use on the blender as well. I just recently bought the small Ninja food processor/chopper and it works just as well. I think I got mine at Kohl's with coupons.

We got our Vitamix 2 years ago and use it daily. We got it refurbished on their website.

Just ordered a ninja. Lots of friends recommended it so I decided to give it a try. Should be here tomorrow. I bought it from kohls.

our vitamix is over 40 years old and is awesome. cudos to the company-they still carry replacement parts for the oldest models (never needed any mechanical parts though-just a replacement seal about 30 years into ownership.
