Hello All - the family is leaving for Hilton Head in a week!... I have compiled a list of restaurants from all of you!... First, Thank you!....I have a bunch of great seafood restaurants.... some are expensive so we shall see....but then again, It's Hilton Head!

Question - does anyone have any favorites or recommendations for an Italian restaurant? I have Giuseppi's down... my hubby may not want to go there... he said he can have pizza at home.... I said it came highly recommended on the boards and that they do not just have pizza... so that is on my list...

I need suggestions people!... Thanks!

I am taking a risk, but I went to Giuseppi's several years ago and I would never go back. Despite the reviews, I was very dissatisfied with the pizza. I have been to Hilton Head Brewing Company for some decent pizza--even a small, personal size.

Right across at Shelter Cove is an Italian restaurant--Little Venice-- I think.

Was there years ago...first time very good...second ok...pricey. But everyone is different so you may want to give it a go. We heard people talking about another one Pasta..something.

When you get there look thru the retaurant book.

LittleVenice is at Shelter Cove and has a nice view if you are eating outdoors, but the food is just OK and very pricey. Across the highway and turning right (coming out of Shelter Cove) is a very good Italian place called Fratello's. It's in a strip mall on the other side of the highway, only about 1/2 mile after you turn right out of Shelter Cove. There's also a Thai and a Southwestern restaurant in the same area.

Thank you... We might consider Fratello's... I am looking at the menu...

Any opinions on which is better - Fratello's or Little Venice...Oh, I see Grammiemame - you said Fratello's...

There are now two restaurants that specialize in pasta -- one is along Hwy 278 going towards Sea Pines Circle (on the left) where the "Huge Seafood Company" (or something like that) is. Haven't been there to give any comments.

The other is at Coligny Plaza. We ate there once. It's very small, but very good!

Sorry I can't remember the exact names of either place at the moment. :rolleyes1

Neno's is supposed to be one of the best restaurants on HH according to tripadvisor...was going to try it last time and didn't get to it - always have to go to Santa Fe cafe - my FAVORITE restaurant there...

The Italian restaurant in Coligny Plaza is Just Pasta. We were there last month for our third year in a row. It is near the bakery. Excellent, fresh pasta. It is a small place, so get there early. We end by getting dessert down the way at Rita's Ice's.

I have to agree with Moushous about Giuseppi's. We went there four years ago on our first trip to HH and had pizza. None of us liked the pizza there, and my kids are not very picky when it comes to pizza. We can never figure out why so many people on these boards rave about that place. There is however a great ice cream place next door to it!

Thanks for telling me about Just Pasta... I am going to check them all out and look at the menus...
I don't know what to do about Giuseppi's...Maybe I won't go because my husband was like, I can eat pizza at home... we shall see.

Thanks again.

DH and I went to Fratello's in 2001 and had the best Italian meal there (now that I recall the name). We highly recommend it!

We went to Neno Il Toscanos two years ago. It was great, food was delicious with exceptional service. Also, very pretty and Italian inside. You can make reservations and it is a really short ride from the resort. Of course as with every place in HH, expensive. Kathy O
