Need an alternative to Ft. Wilderness

It breaks my heart but when I tried to get a reservation for Ft. Wilderness TENT camping today for the weekend of 10/29, they are sold out.

We have a group of 4 families that planned on sharing two sites. Can anyone recommend a nice clean TENT camping facility near Disney? Will do more research myself, but would appreciate any suggestions.

I would research an alternative, but I would also keep trying at the Fort. You never know. You might get lucky in the next week or so. There could be a cancellation.

How many people in your total group, they have a large tent only area for large groups of 20+ or more I think. They are used for Scouts, Church groups etc. and there is a comfort station.

Thanks for the suggestions. We found Tropical Palms Resort which will work because we will basically just be there to sleep. There are 5 minutes from the main gate which is good. Our kids will enjoy it and we still plan on coming over to the Ft. to enjoy some of the evening activities with the kids.

You will enjoy Tropical Palms! We always stay there when we can't get into the fort, and have always had a great time, friendly staff, and fellow campers. Make sure to get to "Old Town" to walk through the shops and see the old cars there on Saturday night. (You will pass right by it to get to the campground) Have fun!

We've stayed at Turkey Lake before... it's pleasant, a bit "rustic" compared to FW, but perfectly nice. I seem to recall a couple fairly tight turns, but totally manageable..... and affordable.

Have you tried reserving for more days than you need and then just cancellig the days you don't need. A lot of times this helps.
