Me and my wife are driving down to Disney from 1/10/03 thru 1/16/03 for our very first trip ever. I started looking at downtown offsite hotels and thinking of using priceline.com. Is this a good idea? We also like the courtyard at Marriott and have read from prior posts on here of $29 or $35 rates. Where do I go to book these rates? Any help would be much appreciated..

Many people here (and elsewhere) swear by Priceline and I've seen plenty of reports of great deals to be had. Personally, I've never used it. I'm too anal to not be able to pick my hotel but don't let that stop you as long as you understand what you're dealing with.

As for Courtyard, certainly a worthwhile choice. I would check Marriott.com, Hotel Kingdom.com, as well as calling the hotel directly to see which way you get the best rate. I'm sure others will chime in if there are any better ways to get those super-low rates.

Have a great trip.

Steve
