Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me decide on a place to eat christmas dinner???This is our first time to Walt Disney World and my family is picky and traditional christmas dinner is what they would like.....My boys are 12 and 5 so thought the Chef Mickey would be nice since i heard good reviews on their food....I'm trying to stay away from MK on Christmas day due to the crowds....I think that we might stay in MGM Christmas dayAny idea's...I'm asking now cause i don't have long until i have to make PS arrangements....Any advice!!!!
Thanks:confused:

If you are going to be at MGM on CHristmas day, you might think about 50 Prime TIMe Cafe. Traditional Family style meals. So much fun.

What is your traditional dinner?

Ours is prime rib so the two times we've been at WDW for Christmas DAy we've dined at R&C on the Candlelight Processional dinner package so two of ours could have their prime rib. Le Cellier would be good for that too or YMS without the CP package.

If turkey is your tradition, I think I remember that "ohanna and Kona Cafe offered that for dinner. I imagine other places do too. Hope others can help more.

Pretty much all the Disney restaurants offer the traditional xmas meal. Turkey with all the trimmings. At the studios I would suggest Brown Derby or Prime Time Cafe. At the resorts Cape May, Whispering Canyon or Trails End.

Wow, I personally know only one family that has turkey as their traditional meal. Obviously, many others do throughout the country but to call it THE traditional Christmas meal surprises me. Perhaps it's a regional thing? Around here people favor ham or beef as well as turkey. I would imagine there are some who still do the very traditional goose!

I wonder what is traditional for UK DISsers, our Canadian friends, etc..

Oh, I forgot pork roast...a friend always does a crown pork roast for Christmas dinner and our butcher always lists that as one of the popular things to preorder for the day.

Born and raised, certified grade A Canadian (living in Texas  ) For X-Mas we all pretty much do Turkey, with all the usual trimmings... We also have x-mas pudding (plum pudding) or mincemeat pie for dessert.

The we go and crash out on the sofa in a diabetic coma :(

Here in Jersey most I know have Turkey. We have turkey and lasagna (gotta have a pasta). Ham is Easter Dinner along with the lasagna. I don't think too many will have these combinations.
I'm interested to hear the different regional menus.

Sorry. Let me give you my x-mas dinner pick.

Artist Point at WL. Quiet elegence, traditional meal, and beautiful themed lobby is always a joy during the holidays.

Ho Ho HO...

Hi,
Yes i'm from Canada and i have lived in the states now for eight year...I'm sorry that i thought everyone had the same traditional dinner....So i'm looking for a turkey dinner, with potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, gravy, corn and dinner rolls...
Thanks
I guess maybe i should try the Canadian restaurant in Epcot they might have what i'm looking for.....

My vote is for Artist Point or Brown Derby. Wonderful atmosphere, and traditional Christmas ambience!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Well in the UK, if you asked that question about 150 years ago it would be Goose, but now traditionally it's definitely Turkey.

I am considering either Cape May for the traditional meal, but am worried a little about what kind of atmosphere a buffet would have for me on Christmas Day or to forget about the Turkey and go to a nice restaurant like the Flying Fish instead.

Decisions decisions and not much time left to choose! :)

I would also vote for Artist Point or if you are in the MK - LTT - very traditional year-round and in a colonial atmosphere.

Oh, the power of suggestion! Does anyone know where to get Goose? ;) It sounds like a real tradition that could be revived.

On a different thread Madcoco posted that AP has one special entree each Christmas and that in 2002 it was chestnut stuffed goose. Does sound good doesn't it?

Speaking as a Canadian, Turkey is our traditional thanksgiving dinner... a must have with all the trimmings...

Christmas is more flexible.. prime rib, pork roast, one year we had curry (it's a long story)

I would recommend a sit down restaurant though... a buffet just is not christmassy to me
