Just found out instead of WDW the Kids want to try Universal this year
we are doing a 4 night Disney cruise and already have a room at the Swan at Disney but the kids wanna check out Universal.

anyone ever stay at WDW and drive to Universal

is there enough there to keep us busy for 3 days??

the kids are 12 and 14 but not into huge thrill rides? I know the HULK is out ....

so any pointers tips or advice???????

Stay at Universal. Tickets are only $79 for 7 days. There are tons of non-thrill rides at the two parks.

Agree with Damo, definetly stay at Universal, and with the FOTL you get for staying onsite, You`re kids will love it even more.

we are kinda locked into the Swan stay
so we will be driving over each day......

Just wondering if people had done that and if the kids will really be entertained for 3 days at US/IOA

Oh there will be lots to do since you will be waiting in line as well. We've been going with our kids since they were about 8 and 10. They much, much prefer Universal now and we easily spend 7 days there without being bored.

Get to the parking lot an hour before park opening. Research which rides appeal to you and your kids the most and do them first before the lines form. It looks like you will be going in a busy time (23 days?) so expect lines and do whatever you can to avoid them.

We drove from a pool home in Kissimmee and like other poster said make sure you park early and it should be ok and there is plenty to keep the kids entertained cause my 2 DS's always have plenty to do and they ate 12 and 16 just remeber to take your time and have fun :thumbsup2

We rented a villa in Clermont last year and drove in each day. Make sure you get to the park at opening. I found the lines really didn't get long until about 1 pm. We left in the afternoon to go back for a swim, lunch/rest and then went back at night. All of the kids had a blast and can't wait to go again.

::yes::

i think you should at least give Universal a try, the kids will love it,hulk is kinda big but rides like the Mummy & Spider-man are great rides , I think you guys will enjoy Universal very much!!

We drive over to Universal every time we stay at Disney - just can't stay away! We don't take I-4, my DH prefers the back roads through Dr. Phillips.

I agree - get to the parking lot one hour early, because you will have to walk through the parking deck, through CityWalk, then on to a park. And, they often open the gates early. Last September we were there about 8:45 and there were already people in the parks and on the rides.
