Hello, I have a Nikon CoolPix 4300. It is slow when taking pictures. Can anyone suggest a better camera for our family or can you help me with my camera problem?

Please give us a better description of how it is slow. You probably mean the shutter lag or the time between shots.

What else are you looking for in your camera... so that folks can make some suggestions for what you should look at..

There is nothing you can do to "fix" the one you have, it is what it is regarding the lag times.

Pre-focusing will help almost any camera regarding shutter lag. This is not always possible though. Shot recycle time requires a different camera. I am assuming that you are looking for a p&s and not a DSLR. I recommend the Canon S2 and S3. They are not perfect, but will likely be a big improvement. The shot to shot time is almost instant, especially if you do not fully release the shutter. Doing that keeps the foucus and exposure settings loaded.
