Okay, I'm coming to the pros for an answer. My DH and I will be in WDW from June 4-11 and will be 2 nights in BCV, 2 nights in BWV and 3 nights in SSR. Since it is just the two of us we wanted to stay at some of the other resorts ... that being said here are my questions:

1. How is the luggage transferred to another resort. Do we take it down to the lobby in the morning? We will have a laptop - how should we handle that ... leave with them or keep with us? We wanted to go to Epcot that day since we are in walking distance to BWV.

2. When we change to BWV we have a 6:30 ADR at LeCellier and will want to change clothes before we go. If Disney handles the bags about what time will we have our luggage? We were going to go right over to BWV in the morning ... I know we can't "check-in" until afternoon but wanted to put in for our room since we have a boardwalk view.

We will have the same thing when we change to SSR. We have 8:00PM ADR at 'Ohana and will want to change before.

Just don't know if we should take taxis each time or let Disney handle the luggage.

All advice appreciated. :goodvibes

We're changing resorts once during our 5 night stay in June, and we have a rental car for the 24 hour period of the change. In fact, whenever we change, we rent a car, but usually there's another reason, like we want the car for church as well. We have the dining plan for the first part of this trip, and we want the car for a short shopping trip for the second part. Now, you would have to do this twice, so maybe that sounds "over the top" for you. Since you have "someplace to be" I would probably take a taxi to the new resort with the bags so I knew bell service at the new resort has them. I do not know what I would do with the laptop, except hope that a room is ready for us early! You just may be lucky!!! We've been pretty lucky about getting rooms before say 2PM and sometimes morning, like 11 AM.

We have transfered and never had a problem. We call the Bell Desk and they pick up our bags and transfer them to the next resort. You need to have them picked up before 1:00 and they are delivered around 3:00. We take the computer and important items on the bus and check them at the Bell Desk at the next resort if our room isn't ready. You should be OK for your ADRs.

You can even leave the luggage in your room for Bell Services to pick up after you have left for Epcot. We did that on our last two trips.

Just leave the bags by the door with the tip tucked under one of the suitcases. We also leave a note on the luggage reminding the bellman which resort they are to be transferred to. We have only had one problem with transferring bags -- When we moved from PO to SSR in January, our luggage went to Coronado Springs. That was the only time we forgot to leave the note on the bags with the final destination.:o

Good luck with the transfer and have fun trying out the different resorts.

We were told that Bell Services will no longer pick up bags that are unattended. Besides you need your bag receipt.

Oh well, the policy must have changed since last month. We left our luggage in the room three weeks ago when we transferred from ASM to BWV. No problems whatsoever.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I feel better about the switching of resorts now. :goodvibes

fwiw - and your milage may vary so don't hold me accountable for this - we've transferred dvd players and video games and not had a problem, just told the bellman and he hung it up in a special place. I haven't sent a laptop along but I think it would be obvious what it is. But here is the the thing, it is going to be handled by the bell man who takes it to storage, by someone else who takes it out, by someone who will truck it over, by someone who will put it in the new luggage place, and then the bellman who will bring it up to your new room. So, even though it should be obvious it is a laptop and they should be careful with it, that is a lot of handling and I don't know if I'd feel comfortable with that. Why not take it with you and put it in a locker so you don't tote it all day. Or carry it over to the next resort and check it there when you check in so at least you don't have it trucked over.
