Need advice with a ticket question

Hi all. I have a ticket problem for my next visit to WDW and I could use some advice.

We are planning to be in WDW August 22-September 1. We will not visit the parks the first day, but will every day after, so 10 total park days. My family members will all have a ten day PH with WPFM, so they are set. My ticket is the problem.

I have an AP which expires on 8/30. Thus, I am two days short. Also, I am missing water park tickets. So, I think I have two options:

1. Renew the annual pass and pay OOP with the passholder discount for the water park visits. I expect we will go to each water park once, so about 100 + tax. This option is fine if I think I will be back to WDW in the renewal year. Right now, I'm not sure. Also, I think paying OOP for two water park visits is less than upgrading to the PAP.

2. Buy a two day PH to cover the two missing days for $237 + tax. Pay OOP for the water parks, which is still less than the annual pass renewal.

Can you think of a better solution?

Also, if I added the WPFM feature to the two-day park hopper, could I use those water park visits earlier in the trip? I know the ticket is valid for 14 total days, but if I have the AP prioritized in MDE and it is still valid, would the water park admissions off another ticket be recognized?

Thanks for any insights!

why not purchase a 2 day ticket with PH and WPF&M?
you can use the water park portion before the theme park portion.
since you will be there for less than 14 days the ticket will not expire before you are done using it.
this way you will spend $291.81 instead of spending $252.41 for the 2 day park hopper plus about $112 for two single day water park tickets.

I think its going to matter whether your water park days fall before or after your AP expires.

You may not want to go back next year, do you think you will ever go back? I can't bring myself to pay for short term tickets, a 10 day no-expiring park hopper with 10 water park days is $769.53 on undercover tourist site. To me that is more cost effective than a 2 day ticket.

My water park days would fall before my AP expires, which is why I'm unsure if buying the two day pass with WPFM would cover the water park admissions. I would be trying to use two different types of tickets during the same time period.

Yes, we would definitely be going back in the future. Just possibly not within the one-year window of the annual pass renewal. A non-expiring ticket is something to consider. I've never bought one.

Yes, you can do that. You will have to go to guest relations to make sure that your 2-day ticket with WPF&M is "prioritized" on your MB before entering the water parks. And likewise, before going back to a theme park, make sure that your AP is prioritized so that you aren't using your 2-day ticket when the AP is still valid. If you have more than one ticket you can use whichever one you want to, but you have to make sure the correct one is being used.

I agree that it's the better option financially. I just don't know if I can use the water park admission off this ticket and the main park admission off my annual pass at the same time. Or, once I entered a water park with this ticket, would my main park admissions then come off it too, rather than the annual pass. If so, it wouldn't work because I would still be two main park admissions short at the end of the trip.

I could keep the two day ticket out of MDE entirely, but then I think I wouldn't be able to make FP+ reservations for the last two days of my trip. Ugh.

Ah, so I can keep re-prioritizing the tickets as needed? That's great, although possibly a lot of time spent standing in guest relations lines :rolleyes2 Maybe the best solution, though.
