I have La Hacienda booked for our trip in 2 weeks, but now I am wondering if the entire party would enjoy San Angel Inn more. We have never eaten at either place. Our party consists of myself, dh, my mother and stepfather (both seniors) and my four children age 2, 4, 9. and 13. Any help would be appreciated!

We have been to SAI three times and just once was the food just eh, heavier on the spice then the previous 2 times

Tried La Hacienda once and the food was terrible..I am in no rush to go back

I have never been to SAI, but we were at La Hacienda a couple of weeks ago and I was not impressed. My shrimp tacos were tasty, but DH's pork tenderloin was terriby overcooked. Both desserts were subpar. ALthough I have not eaten at SAI, I've seen it in the Mexico pavillion and I think the atmosphere is superior to La Hacienda.

We ate at San Angel a few years ago and were very unimpressed. However, we were at La Hacienda in April and everyone enjoyed their meals, from the appetizers to the desserts. My nephew and I shared the Del Mar platter and it was wonderful! I still think about the mahi mahi & scallops that they served!!

Thanks for all of your help! I'm thinking mexican might not be our best choice in epcot!

I would say the SAI would be a great choice for you. As at the end of your meal your eldest would be able to take the 9 and 4 on the little ride there ( very safe they do not need to leave the building-and will pass by you on the ride, leaving the rest of you to enjoy coffee/chat that can be diff after diner with younger children. as long as your 2 yr old will play ball with that plan:rotfl2:

had three bad meals at SAI and one at the Hacienda and that pretty much took ir off our dining list!

Try Biergarten ! Or Nine Dragons~

San Angel Inn is a fine choice, but with so many kids ( and little ones ), I would try for a buffet in Epcot. No wait is always a bonus! Norway and Germany both have buffets. They both have food that the little ones will like besides the European fare. You will have a great time!

:) I would also vote for Beirgarten if you are thinking of changing plans. There is a cute German show that goes on with a small dance floor if the seniors are so inclined. I really do not enjoy sausage--and thought that would be all they would have. It was one of the best meals on our trip. SAI is dark and crowded to me but the atmosphere is neat. I would not want to be so confined with a group your size there. I think the entire family would enjoy being more laid back at Beirgarten. So I would shop the market place in SAI but eat at Beirgarten.

I have good friends who love La Hacienda.

We have a res for SAI & I have wanted to try this for years. But sadly, I think I'm going to cancel it due to poor reviews on the boards. WE are getting the DDP but our res is after we will have used all our credits. IMO, I can't see paying cash when it's so expensive if there is a doubt on the food. I will just do CS in Mex since we love Mexican food & the CS has gotten rave reviews on the boards & in WDW books I have read. Either way let us know what u pick& how it is!!!:goodvibes

hmmm... the buffet sounds like a good choice... I was a little worried about the food at biergarten, but might keep the kiddos entertained.

Don't be worried about the food at Biergarten; it's really quite good, although not terribly 'exotic'. And even the pickiest kids (and adults) enjoy the pretzel bread and the spatzle noodles.

And since you are a party of 8, you will get a table to yourselves. All tables seat 8 and they try to fill each table, just as they would at a beer garden in Germany.
