Need advice on scheduling flight after NYE celebrations

I need you advice on our flight schedule. We will be staying the week between Christmas and NYE in DL. My plan was to leave the park after the NYE countdown and head to the airport where we would spend a couple hours in the members lounge until our 6am flight which I booked just a couple days ago. So we wouldn't need a hotel that night since we would be at the park all day. However, I was checking our reservation just now and found that UA has a schedule change and the flight now leaves later in the evening on Jan 1st which doesn't work for us. I'm trying to get us home by early evening b/c DS has school the next day.
Our optons are either a 7:45am or a 10am flight. So now I'm torn, do we just take the 7:45am and wait at the airport like originally planned (but an extra couple hours) or should I add a hotel night and head out in the morning. I'm just worried that with the second option it would be difficult to get the kids up on time for our flight since they would be going to bed so late on NYE. WWYD???

I hate these schedule changes...I thought I had it all figured out...

I just wanted to add that it would be myself, DH , DS11 and DS5.

I have to notify UA which flight I want to change to but I'm not sure what to decide.

If it were my kids I'd get the hotel room. Then they could at least get some good sleep in a bed before heading to the airport. Mine have trouble sleeping on the plane and with a late night they would probably be cranky. I would probably be cranky after a full day of parks and then having to go to the airport. I'd do the 10:45 one just so everyone could get decent sleep.
