We are going on our 1st family trip to Orlando, Aug 17-23. We will only have 3 days to do the parks with 2 kids (who will be ~3years & 17 mons) I really have not planned out what to see and what to do at each of the parks, I guess that is what I will look into next. I really want the park days to be flexible and just do what the girls want to. Hopefully this is the right place to post this :goodvibes

As far as the parks, our plan is to do the parks first thing in the morning when they open and only stay till noonish, unless the girls just do not want to leave. Here is what we are thinking of doing:
Sun: Aug 17: Arrive at Windsor Hills, relax, maybe go to Downtown Disney

Mon: Aug 18: HS

Tues: Aug 19: MK

Wed: Hang out at the pool in the morning then Chef Mickey's for dinner for DD 3rd B-day party

Thurs and Fri: Hubby is bowling in International Police games, so me and the girls are hanging out at the pool. Then doing Camp Fire Sing-Along with Chip & Dale in the evening

Sat: Aug 28: AK

Hollywood studios has EMH posted for Monday, so should we change Monday to MK?
MK has no EMH that week.
AK EMH Mon
HS EMH Mon and Sat

The only other option would be to do one of the parks on Sunday Aug 24 before heading to Panama City for a week. Which would be fine for us.
Sunday we could do either AK or HS....MK has EMH that date.

So what do you all think??
:thanks:

I'm a planner who has been there before with kids 3 & 1 who are now 7 and 9 and we have gone every year. I would definitely plan basics of the day knowing you may have to be flexible. I also would plan mid day naps at the house whether the kids want to or not. They will certainly not want to if asked, but will be crabby all afternoon and night. You also should NOT go to a park with EMH that day because it will be busier then the others. You are right on with being there first thing in the am, especially kids will be up early anyway. I personally don't think there is enough at HS for the kids to want to be there all day. Mostly shows and sitting for busy kids. Do you have a hopper? Maybe hop to another park later that day.

The hopper is a great idea. We are actually thinking of doing a hopper for atleast 1 day. MK takes up an entire day. We found that AK was just a half day park. We were thinking of doing the hopper for AK, go back and swim and relax and then go to Epcot for Illuminations.
Okay, I know that didnt help you, just me thinking outloud lol.
Your plans look like fun. I am sure you will have fun. :goodvibes

Yes we have the hopper, would another park work better than HS?

We are only really planning on staying t the parks in the morning then heading back to Windsor Hills around noon. Whether we go back to the parks in the eveving will really be up to how the girls are doing. My 3 yo really does not nap, maybe once a week or once everyother week. My youngest takes at least one dap a day usually two :worship:

I think your plan looks great. Except maybe the day that you have relaxing around the pool with your dh before his bowling, i might change that to another day at MK. This way if you don't see everything you have another day to go through. Plus you are going to have two days at the pool when he is bowling. But that's just my opinion. I think everything else looks great and i say stick to MK on tuesday because Monday is traditionally the busiest day there. I went last year with a 3 and 1 year old and i think as long as you have a "loose" plan you'll be fine. Just pick what day you'll go to each park, a couple meals, and maybe a short "must see" list for each park.

Have fun!

Thanks for the info! The 2 days he bowls, he bowls in the morning from like 8am to about 1pm, so that is why I have me and the girls at the pool, because while he is bowling and I will probably not have a car during those times. But we will have the afternoon free. We have not bought our tickets yet, so we really could get a 4 day pass instead of a 3 day pass.
I like the idea of a short "must see" list :cheer2: I will start working on that!

Wait I think I know what you are talking about now, the 3 days in a row we have at the pool. That Wed is her B-day dinner and I was afraid to go to the parks on that day for fear that the girls would be too tired to enjoy Chef Mickeys. Any ideas what to do on that day instead?

I think you are missing Epcot! :scared1: We went when my twins were 3 and my DS 2 and they really enjoyed Epcot. Turtletalk with Crush, the Living Seas, Journey into Imagination, the Great Big Golfball of Tomorrow (aka Spaceship Earth) etc are all great attractions for little ones. :yay:

Depending on what time your dinner is at Chef Mickey's maybe go to a park in the evening since the girls will have been relaxing all day and will be able to relax the next day also. MK would be the most obvious since you will be right there from dinner.

I guess I had not thought of Epcot, I had not had anyone with young kids recommend it. I will take a look!
:thanks: everyone for all the comments and suggestions :disrocks:
