so i have been going over my dining reservations for my upcoming September trip for a couple days and thinking that i need to add something to them. We are going for 5 days and 4 nights and we are doing the deluxe dining plan for the first time. this is also the first trip that me, DH and DD are taking my 16 year old sister with us who hasn't been to the world in 6 years. so here are my ressies that i have and some explanations for why i have them. any advice or reviews would be greatly appreciated!

Monday - California grill ~ 5:40pm (signature dinner = 2 ddp credits)

Tuesday - Cape may café ~ 7:30am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)

Wednesday - Cape may café ~ 7:40am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)

Thursday - Cape may café ~ 7:30am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)
Narcoossees ~ 7:45pm (signature dinner = 2 ddp credits)

Friday - Cape may café ~ 7:30am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)
Yachtsman steakhouse ~ 6:55pm (signature dinner = 2 ddp credit)

There is a reason for why we have Cape May Cafe booked for 4 days in a row. We not only love this restaurant but we also like to start out the day with breakfast especially when it is hot and humid outside. Plus since we are staying in the Beach Club it is much easier to stay in the resort for breakfast and then get started with our day afterwards. My aunt also works here so getting to see her every morning during our trip is a big plus for us and especially her!

Now Tuesday we are going to MNSSHP so i was planning on having a late lunch/early dinner at Beaches & Cream that day which would count for another credit on the ddp. so totaling everything up we would have 12 points to start with and with this plan we are using a total of 11 of them. But i feel that my plan is lacking something. i was thinking of booking another dinner for Wednesday in Epcot since i was planning that to be or Epcot day. This is our 7th trip in 3 years and have done a lot of restaurants especially the character ones. i really want to try something new and honestly all the signature dinners are all new for us that i booked. So do y'all think i should book something for Wednesday dinner in Epcot and if i do what would you recommend? i would want a 1 credit meal and preferably dinner in World Showcase. We love Akershus and have done that every trip so that is always an option. I am not crazy over Mexican food and the Chinese and Japanese food is very good but we have a lot of those types of restaurants here at home. Also we did Le Celler a year ago and don't feel the need to repeat when there are other options. So any recommendations? i was also thinking of booking something for Wednesday and possibly changing it to the new pizza eatery in Italy when we have more information on it!

thanks everyone!

Well, you've knocked out a lot of choices. :-) In two sentences you knock out Mexico, China, Japan, Norway, & Canada. And let's face it, your not going to eat at american adventure for your meal of choice, so that's another one down.

That leaves us: Germany, Italy, France, Morrocco, and the UK.

I have eaten in Italy, Morroco, and the UK. If you have many Japanese & Chinese restaurants, you probably also have Italian one's as well. So, I think we can scratch that one.

I have not eaten in France, nor Germany, but I hear good things.

So I guess it boils down to what kind of eaters you are. Between Restaurant Marrakesh, and Rose & Crown, I choose the latter. I'm more of meat & taters man myself. So, check out the menu at allears, and see if it works for you & yours.

(I know you wanted a WS, place, but check our Coral Reef as well.)

i was thinking of Coral Reef but i didnt want to use up 2 more point since i only have one left. Yea i am not interested in eating at The American Adventure because i wanted something different. I was thinking of Italy but here in NJ we have a lot of Italian eateries too. And we also did eat in Italy a couple years back. I was thinking of either France, Germany or Morocco but i seem to see mixed review about all of them. it was so much easier when dd was smaller and only wanted character meals! LOL

Tutto Italia was our "hands down, absolute favorite" restaurant last trip. This is what I would recommend.

(unless you count Ghiradelli , yum yum)

Coral Reef is only 1 TS credit so I would suggest it or Germany. We've never eaten in France or Morocco but I will say that Germany was fun and the food was good. Coral Reef has also been a great meal for us in the past.

Coral Reef is a 1 point meal. It is a must do for my daughter. It is very nice inside and food is good.

We also love Biergarten, food is ok, but the place is alot of fun.

We are trying Chefs this trip so no feedback.

i thought Coral Reef was 2 points. The last time i looked into it a couple years ago i thought it was. I will certainly check out the menu for that one now and see if that would be a good choice. thanks everyone!

looks like you're going to be there during Free Dining...I'd book soon, if I were you. Some of the places mentioned (like Coral Reef) might have very limited availability.

We've been to Germany & France. Germany, the food was OK, some good...but we had bad luck with our seating arrangement (you're seated in groups of 8 at communal tables...we were a party of 3. The people we were sat with apparently didn't buy into the notion that Biergarten means Beer Garden in German. So they were horribly offended when we had beer.) Entertainment is great fun (kind of like being at a family wedding--little kids out on the dance floor trying to polka, lol.)

France, Le Chefs, we've eaten at twice. We like the food there - it's not fancy-schmancy French food (although the menu is in French & English) It's French Cafe food...kind of French "comfort" food. We've had some excellent food there.

Rose & Crown-- British bar food, basically. Good, but again, not fancy. Some meat & potatoes options there.

Tutto Italia- we liked that too...a step above Olive Garden.

You're staying at Beach Club--have you considered Cape May dinner? No characters, but good buffet (it's not all sea food.) Also, over at Yacht Club, Captain's Grill is one TS, good steaks on the menu.

Via Napoli might be a good choice, but you might want to book something else for now in case it doesn't open in time for your trip.

yes we will be there during free dining but we didn't book free dining since i received a 40% off pin code that i used for The Beach Club. I really hope Via Napoli is opened when we are there. i would love to try it! I have checked all of these places on the reservations and they have availability for the most part. i think i am going to print out the menus for all of them in Epcot that were suggested including Coral Reef and ill include the Cape May Clam Bake too and then tonight, since my mother and sister are coming over for dinner, i will show DH and sis and see what they think.

a little off topic to catne: i just saw your signiature and noticed a pattern and that you visit the world in January, May and September. Those are mine and DHs favorite times to visit! once day i will convince him to let us go 3 times a year instead of 2!

Here's a few thoughts.

One of the things I like about the deluxe dining plan is appetizers are included (1 per person), except at all you can eat family style and buffet meals. We like appetizers because it gives us a chance to try different things.

Money wise... if you schedule more table service meals than 12 credits, it might be cost-effective to pay out of pocket for Beaches and Cream or one or more of your breakfasts which will be cheaper than lunches and dinners.

Here's what I'd do. Skip Narcoosees and go to Citricos instead. Both are at the Grand Floridian, both 2 credit signature restaurants. While Narcoosees had good service and food, and you might have a table by the window and look out at the water.... but Citricos blows Narcoosees out of the water -- with incredible, more formal service and outstanding food quality and presentation. And with both, you get to enjoy the Grand Floridian lobby shops, floral arrangements, and the orchestra and piano player there.

Maybe you picked Narcoosees because you like seafood. It was OK.... But, Flying Fish at the Boardwalk Inn gets superior reviews for seafood. Also a 2 credit signature restaurant... we are going there next trip, and the menu is not as ordinary as Narcoosees. Trade Yachtsman for Flying Fish Cafe.

I've never been to Yachtsman but, based on the reviews, I'd skip it. I can get a good steak almost anywhere at home (or cook it myself). That will still leave you with 1 credit. We very much enjoyed Marrakesh for lunch. We went later around 12:45pm so we would be there when the belly dancer started. The service and food was wonderful. We enjoyed the music and felt like we were stepping into another world (or country). I'm sure dinner is just as nice.

Not sure what your park plans or tastes are... but we really enjoyed Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom Park. I encourage you to try it.

Oh.... and we loved California Grill -- you can get a great steak there (I bet much better than anything at Yachtsman). And if you like Sushi - their appetizers are great! Check sunset time. We were there in Oct. at sunset and it was beautiful from up that high.

Monday - California grill ~ 5:40pm (signature dinner = 2 ddp credits)

Tuesday - Cape may café ~ 7:30am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)

Wednesday - Cape may café ~ 7:40am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)

Thursday - Cape may café ~ 7:30am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)
Narcoossees ~ 7:45pm (signature dinner = 2 ddp credits)

Friday - Cape may café ~ 7:30am (character breakfast = 1 ddp credit)
Yachtsman steakhouse ~ 6:55pm (signature dinner = 2 ddp credit)

I've eaten in Germany...and really liked it.

yes we love that the appetizers are included because we can all order different ones and share. we are really excited about that. it goes the same for the desserts. we are planning on ordering different ones and sharing them all, kinda like just tasting them because we know we will be pretty full from big dinners to be able to eat all of our own desserts.

i had wanted to try Citricos and Narcoosees on this trip but when i showed DH and sis the menu for Citricos both of them were not impressed. they really liked the menu for Narcoosees so i went just with that one. Plus that night is a MNSSHP night so we were planning on watching HalloWishes from the deck of Narcoosees after dinner.

I did end up booking Marrakesh for dinner on Wednesday night at 4. I showed DH and sis the menu last night after dinner and both of them thought it sounded really good.

Thanks so much everyone for your input. I am now thinking of changing Yachtsman Steakhouse but i think i will keep it for now and once the new pizza eatery in Italy opens for reservations, i might try and get that and replace Yachtsman which would then give me one more credit since i would be exchanging a 2 credit for a 1 credit.
