Hi all,
Will be down at Disney for a few days in May and need some advice on where to get the best ticket prices for 2 days at Disney( don't need park hopper) and 1 day Universal. Undercover tourist for Disney indicates 2 days in higher than gate price. With all the options my head is spinning in trying to figure out best prices. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Disney does not "discount" 1-day and 2-day tickets, so the conventional "authorized discounters" do not offer reduced price 1-day and 2-day tickets.

Going to WDW for 1 or 2 days is THE most expensive way to visit.

Undercover tourist often has additional discounts if you combine tickets to Disney and Universal. But as posters above have said, for such a short duration tickets, you’re not likely to find many discounts online. In fact, one day tickets are sometimes more expensive when you go through resellers.

Direct from the parks, in your case. Sorry to say, but those are both tickets without any discounts.

Some advocate buying tickets using "rewards" cards from various retailers.
Some have mentioned buying tickets via certain airline and travel discounts.

All of these may save a few dollars, but not really enough to make what amounts to a "difference."

Agree - unfortunately there's really not a significant discount to be found. And for Universal, if your plan is to experience all of Harry Potter, you're going to want their Hopper pass, which is also the most expensive way to do Universal. Sorry.

We had this same plan, except maybe 2 and 2. Prices were ridiculous. Unless money is not an issue you kind of have to go either all Disney or all Universal.

Three days at one or the other and save for a 2nd visit in the future... There are no real discounts for your scenario and as pointed out you are doing it the most expensive way possible (excepting adding park hopper).

You can get a small “discount” by purchasing discounted disney gift cards from “real” vendors (don’t fall for online scams—I am talking about Sam’s Club, target red card discount, and some grocery stores), and using the gift cards to buy tickets. Look at the discount board for details.

The BEST ticket prices on Universal are (sorry) going to a timeshare presentation for 1.5-2 hours. Several offer two adult one-day one-park Universal tickets. I've done this a couple of times. I used my "Magic Kingdom down time" (afternoons when MK is mobbed) to go to the timeshare. Just have a story ready that you already use a friend's timeshare, or that you only have two weeks vacation a year, and you usually go on a cruise for one week, and use the rest for long weekend vacations.

Then once you get to Universal, upgrade them to one-day two-park tickets (if you want to experience both Potter parks and the Hogwarts Express).

It's pretty easy to visit both parks in one day. We were done by 6pm. You just have to get to the gate about 30 min before they open.

Undercover Tourist right now (not sure if it's always this way?) is charging more than Disney for one or two park days. Your best bet for 2 days is to buy discounted Disney gift cards and buy direct.

Yes, this is the norm

Undercover Tourist’s web site says its 1 and 2 day tickets are more expensive than Disney. However when I recently priced UT, Disney and Expedia for a one day ticket on March 18, Disney was the most expensive. Disney- $143.78
UT- $139.05
Expedia $136.32
Not a huge difference, but worth checking all the prices yourself for the days you need.
I also priced Universal and I think the Universal site was the best price (or the same).

Short trips like that are definitely the most expensive way to see either Disney or Universal. Are you there for a work conference? Conference tickets have time restraints, but might fit well into your plans. Or just pick one - Disney or Universal.

A well-planned day at any of the parks can be a ton of fun and worth the price if that's the only option that works. But some folks don't recommend these super short trips because its a higher cost per day than longer trips will be.

Thanks...That is what I am finding out...Disney discounts for longer days in the parks. Now considering just doing Universal or Disney for the 2-3 days.. may make it easier and more cost effective. May not be real realistic/cost effective to hit 3 different parks in three days. Thanks all for your input.

Is the Universal Express unlimited worth getting?
We never go without it. But we either use the after 4:00 pass included with our AP or stay in a resort that has it included. I'm not sure you can do everything in 1 day without it
