I think the timer is broken on our dishwasher. I started it before going to bed. At 3 a.m. it was still running! It is about 15 years old. Is this worth a service call/repair?

What would you recommed for a new dishwasher? It has to be efficient and quiet. Can't tolerate soap residue left on dishes.

Thanks.

I personally would buy a new timer and install it myself,,but that's just me,,, I like to save money and fix things myself..

It's 15 years old? I'd get a new one. How much longer will it last?! Earlier this year I bought a GE Profile dishwasher...LOVE it! It's soooooooooooooooooooooo quiet and does a fantastic job on the dishes.

We re-did our kitchen about 2 years ago and went with a GE Profile Performance and it worked great. We moved to a new house about a month ago and it came with a Bosch...I can't even hear the thing running and it also sports a really cool "hidden" control panel.

15 years ?! I'd say you got your moneys worth out of it. That's how I always decide...."Did I get my moneys worth?"

Go for a new one. They truly are not all that expensive.

I only wish now I'd have gotten one with less 'prongs' in it....I can't seem to fit all I want to into it because they are too many too tight.

At least I now know what to NOT get next time I'm in the market.
