Need Advice on Current Add-On Promotion

I have a couple questions about the add-on promotion. I'm not sure if I missed out, or if I should be questioning my guide further. My husband and I agreed to purchase 50 add-on points at SSR a few days prior to the new add-on promotion being announced (1 park ticket per 25 points purchased). We were given a choice of Phase 1 or Phase 2 points, and we chose Phase 2. We had just received the paperwork from DVC when the promotion was announced. At that point, we hadn't signed any of the paperwork to send back to DVC. I contacted my guide and was told we were one of the few that fell into this category and we did indeed qualify for the new promotion. He said he would make sure we were sent 2 one day/one park tickets. But, he never mentioned a $10 incentive per point if we chose Phase 2 points. At the time I thought the $10 incentive was for a 100 point purchase. However, based upon a couple other posts I have seen on this board, it appears the $10 point incentive also applied for a 50 point purchase. Can anyone verify this? Was my timing off since we agreed to purchase right before the promotion began (even though we hadn't signed any papers and our guide offered and sent us 2 park tickets)? I guess this is bothering me because it's a $500 difference in price depending on whether or not we get this promotion, and let's face it, $500 is a lot of money! What do you all think?

I'm sorry I don't know the difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2 points, but I just increased my 150 pt. contract today by 50 points. Maybe I'm one of the posters you are referring to. Anyway, I specifically asked my sales guide about the $10.00/pt. discount after her mentioned the 2 free admission tickets. If you are financing, you will not have to pay for the new points until June.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

I'd call your guide back again and restart your additional purchase anew.

DukeStreetKing,

Would you mind if I asked who your guide is. Of course, I know it shouldn't make a difference. The promotion should be the same regardless of who you have.

Anyone else have any insight on this??

That is Phase 2 points you are adding on. If you dont have to start paying for them until later, then you are buying into the buildings they are currently building. This is how we purchased and cannot use our points until March, 2005 (even though we purchased a few months back) and this was how we got the $10 off per point. Basically a presale.

I honestly didn't look at the new promotion too closely because I knew we were not going to add on yet. Wish I knew more about it to tell you.

We also recieved the 10 dollar a point option and the 2 passes for our recent 50 point add on and our Guide called us to let us know about it she has been great with stuff like this. The new promo offers us no payments untill June and we get the points in May of 05 along with the 2 one day one park tickets. On the 50 point contract it was financed through Disney directly and the downpayment needed went from 974 to 474 with the 10 dollars off per point.

We definitely bought Phase 2 points. Our use year is April; we don't close until the end of March 2005. Right now it feels like we were misled when we agreed to the add-on. To make things worse, we have already signed and sent back the papers about a week and a half ago to DVC. I don't even know if we even have the opportunity at this point to dispute it. I am so upset about this. Do you think we have a chance to get this redone even though we have already sent back our paperwork? I have a call in to our guide but doubt I'll hear from him before next week.

Did you check and see how much of a downpayment you needed? If you are financing, then maybe they already subtracted it and just didnt tell you. *shrug* you never know, but you can hope.

I wish they had subtracted it out. We actually made a downpayment of $1000. The purchase price is $4750; leaving an amount financed of $3750.

Does anyone know when this offer of $10pp discount and passes is going to expire??? With the discount it works out to be about the same price or maybe even a little cheaper than buying a 50 point resale and you get the extra years.

I don't remember the exact date the promotion expires. I think I remember seeing January 8 on a mailing I had received.

I do have an update on my problem. My guide just called me and we do get the $10 per point incentive. Yippee!!!!! He just made my weekend so much better....it feels like Santa just gave me an early Christmas present!! We're not sure yet if any of our paperwork has to be redone or if the $500 gets applied to our principal balance. Regardless, thanks to you all for listening. I am doing the happy dance now. :cool1:

Member website, and the mailer both state that this promotion ends Jan 8th, 2005.
