Hello all, I have been reading threads for days now, and I really love all the advice you guys offer! I have picked up some awesome tips. Here is my question. We booked a vacation package for September 24 through the 29th, and it is completely paid for. This is for DLH, and has 6 day park hopper tickets for 2 adults, 2 kids under 9 and an infant. In checking the annual pass specials, we could get the discounted rate for our trip. We paid $2,915.00 already, but I emailed to ask what would the rate be for passholders for the same timeframe. They responded with 6 nights instead of our initial 5 nights with a rate of $1783.08 for the room only, and then of course 469 for an annual pass. Would it be worth it to cancel and change reservations? How hard is it to cancel and get another room, can it be done with one phone call? And also, can they sell me a 6 day park hopper ticket for the rest of the people in my party, even though they only advertise 5 day tickets? Thanks in advance for any help you have, what a great community of Disney fans!

Best thing to do is crunch the numbers to see if it makes financial sense to buy the AP's. You can also consider merchandise and dining discounts available...depending on which AP you purchase.

As far as adding another day to a 5 day park hopper...
Some people have had success adding an extra day at the ticket booths when they are at the parks, but some are also stating they were unable to add. If they add a day, it is a bonus because according to Disney, they are no longer selling 6+ PH for DLR.

Thanks for the reply. I was just reading the thread about no longer upgrading days on a 5 day park hopper. Not sure what to do...

Things to consider:

1. I would in no way count on being able to upgrade 5-day tickets to 6-day tickets. Disneyland officially no longer offers 6-day tickets. People who have attempted to upgrade tickets beyond 5 days since this policy change have met with mixed results; some have been successful, others not successful, even with perseverance and multiple attempts.

2. Are you comparing apples to apples? I noticed you said you got a sixth night on the AP quote versus the 5 nights of the package, but other than that, are you getting the same thing? Does the $2915 include parking fees? Does the $1783.08 include room taxes (I'm guessing yes with that 8 cents but just checking)? Does it include parking fees? Are there any other special amenities included in your package that you actually care about and would place monetary value on that you won't be getting with a room-only reservation? What kind of change or cancellation fees will you be subject to if you cancel your package?
