A beautiful yellow lab puppy wondered to our house yesterday, It had to bto e dropped off no collar or tags about 3 months old, I don't know what do with it or who to call , we can't keep it with have a dog, But we keep it inside last night because we have alot of wild animals and who do i call, info of what to do?
Thanks kim

Take him to a local vet. They can check to see if he has a microchip identifying him and the family he belongs to. They should also be able to let you know where to take him, or may keep him themselves (depends on the vet). DH found a similarly "lost" dog in June - who is now part of our family. He had no tags, no microchip and no one responded to the ad that was put out with the animal shelters in the county he was found, where we live and in between. Our vet told us that if someone was looking for him, we would hear back within 3 days on average. I know if one of our pets were ever missing we'd be looking everywhere and quickly. It is nice of you to try to help this poor dog.

If you have to get rid of the dog immediately, call a no-kill shelter. Or there is a lab rescue in Cincinnati. http://www.rescuealab.com/blog.asp

No kill shelters are not always the best. I've seen dogs live out their lives in them. If the dog is a cute lab puppy there is no reason that it wouldn't get adopted out of a normal shelter.

Good advice. Also, I would take him to the lab rescue center. They will find him a good home.:thumbsup2

I agree with the Lab rescue center being the place to take him. Both no-kill and other shelters are full of dogs that people have brought in because they couldn't afford them anymore. On the other hand, a group that is specifically for one breed would probably be a better bet.
As far as the fact that he is Lab and that should mean he has no problem being adopted, Hurley didn't have any Pit characteristics (looks-wise) when he was a litle puppy. He looked like a mix between a Beagle and a Lab and was adorable (hadn't grown into his ears yet.) He also got very, very lucky. He was scheduled to be put down the day after my roommate found him.

update on the dog, the shelter came and got the dog and she said it was a yellow lab and it was a couple months old ,she checked it for a chip ,no chip and she said it looked as if it was well taken care of and she said they would hold it for two days to see if anyone claims it and then it would be adopted out, She said it was extemely adoptable, they had a waiting list for people wanting labs. Which made me feel better. Thanks for all your help.
