need advice on a cruise, please!

We have never been on a cruise before. My son is graduating from high school in May, and I would like to take my daughter (age 15) and him (age 17) on a special trip. We haven't had a vacation since our last trip to Disney World 2 years ago. I've placed a hold on a stateroom on the Holland America Zuiderdam for a 7 day cruise to the Western Caribbean in June. Has anyone been on a Holland America or other cruise to that region? Any suggestions or advice?

We too are going on a cruise in the Western Caribbean, but not until November. What islands are you going to? I do know that Holland America is the highest rated cruise line for like the 5th year in a row (I just read that on Cruise Critic!). In any case, DawnCT recommended to me a great website/discussion boards, and they have a board specific to Holland America. The people there are super friendly and very helpful. You might want to give it a try. I'm sure you'll find lots of info there.

Christineann, come over the cruise board. There are plenty of folks there who have sailed on HAL plus the Magic does the Western Caribbean itinerary so you can get info on the ports as well.
