We've scheduled a WDW trip around a work conference in February, and have booked the GF with a special conference rate. Having never been to WDW (conference or not), I'm trying to decide if we will be giving up some of the magic for our kids by going with the conference hotel/room block.

I'd love to hear from other people who have visited a deluxe resort for a conference...were you treated differently? Was it harder to get special requests or other amenities? Were your rooms in the worse possible locations? Anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance!

Not at all! We stayed at CR for a conference and we were treated better, I think, than if we weren't. Room location according to our original preferences, great check-in & out, and our conference did special things like dinner at California Grill, free theme park tickets, Magic Kingdonm tours, etc. It was great!

That's great to know! So your room location was not set in stone? Whenever I think of a "room block", I think literally of a block of rooms...but it would be nice if there was a little chance for special requests.
