Hi all -- I'm going to WDW with a friend and she is all excited to see Spectromagic. It's only running one night during our stay, so I'm worried it will be very crowded. Does anyone have advice on where to stand, how early to get there, anything else?

Thanks!:Pinkbounc

Hello! Well everybody lines up on main street hours before the start of the parade. However, farther back, in frontierland by splash mountain, it is much less crowded. The parade starts on main street and heads back towards frontierland. I would suggest being over there. People will argue you get a more magic feel to the show up front, by the castle or on main street. To me being close to the parade is more important. Either wait 1 to 2 hours before hand to see it on main street, or 1/2 hour before at the end of the parade route. One thing I like to do is watch the parade from right in front of the castle, up the steps. You are not right next to the street, but your view is much higher up, over everyone else's head.

Enjoy! It is my favorite parade!

If you have park-hoppers I would avoid the park during the day on Saturday. What we do is go to Epcot during the day & then monorail over to MK in the late afternoon/early evening, leaving us time to eat & usually go on some of the attractions before the parade. If we want to get out of the park quickly after the parade we watch from Main Street, near Tony's. If we want a less crowded viewing area we watch near the end of the parade in Liberty Square/Frontierland. We've even been lucky enough to see it from the rocking chairs at the Liberty Tree Tavern. Have fun!!

I too have the same question about Spectro. I have read that Frontierland is a good place to watch it. What about the fireworks that follow? Can you see them from Frontierland? What about the mass exodus from the park? any tips? I will have two small children(3 and 11 months) with me and I am all for beating the crowds somehow!

We always watch Specto in Frontierland, usually on the porch near the shooting gallery. After the parade we walk over to the Hub with the crowd to watch the fireworks. We are always there in plenty of time to see Tinkerbelle's flight. Of course, you are shoulder to shoulder with masses of people for the fireworks, but since you are looking up, the view is fine. Also, there is a great feeling of comeraderie among everyone watching the fireworks together.

If you watch the parade from Frontier Land, after parade ends, cut through to Adventure Land and then make your way towards Crystal Palace. Go into Casey's Corner, and then just walk through all the stores until you exit at the end of Main Street. All the stores on that side of the street are connected. That way, you avoid making your way back to the hub and walking the streets with the crowds!

On our last trip we watched Spectro on Main St. just up the street from the entrance/Railroad. We were across from where they entered from so we got a great view of them across the square, coming around the corner and then right at us! However, we did get that spot about 1 1/2 hrs. before the parade! On our trip this Aug we will be watching from Frontier Land and enjoying a leisurely walk out.

We watched from Main street just next to the tomorrowland bridge. We got there about an hour before the start of the parade. You can stay there for the start of the fireworks. It is a good spot to see Timerbell fly from the castle.

At the Plaza Pavilion Restaurant you can see the parade from above everybody else. You aren't close at all, but if you are short like I am (4'11") it pays to be up high. It doesn't matter what time I stake out a spot for the parade, somebody always elbows their way in front of me. Make sure you are not sitting under the overhang of the terrace and you also have a great view of Tinkerbell and the fireworks. My husband usually grabs our seats while I get in line for Mickey Mouse ice cream bars. You can't enjoy the parade without a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar!

If you are both adults and don't need a curb seat, you can usually find a standing spot within a half hour before. Last December, we found a spot right where it comes out about 10 minutes before it started, standing behind some kids who were sitting under the rope (there was no curb there). We like to watch it in Town Square and have never had a problem finding a standing spot.

If you want to sit, you need to stake out your little piece of real estate well ahead of time. Curbside has one major detractor and that's two rows of people "gently" pushing you into the street and plopping their kids down in front of you.

We've found that standing back any place there is even a slight rise gives you a good view without feeling "wrapped."
