Need advice for next WDW trip.......

I just got back from WDW (12/2-12/10). We stayed at SSR. This was my 8th trip to the "World" but my 1st trip as a DVC Member. My home resort is OKW. It was 3 of us on this trip which included my 16 yr old niece. This trip was her gift for her 16th birthday. Its a little tradition I've started. Whenever a niece or nephew turns 16, they a get a trip to WDW as their gift from me. I requested a 1 bedroom as opposed to a studio, because with my 16 yr old niece in tow, I thought she would appreciate the privacy of a bedroom. I tried to get in at BCV or BWV at the 7 month window but couldn't get in. I even put myself on the waitlist, but no luck. So we ended up at SSR. Of course, I'm already planning my trip for next year. This time, I want to go the week of Halloween and stay 8 nights. Again I would like to get into BCV or BWV. No one is turning 16 next year, so this trip would only be 2 adults, so I only need a studio. I heard a lot of people mention the "Dialing Derby", meaning people are calling MS everyday and booking their trip 1 night at a time. I was just wondering with everyone's vast experiences, if it is suggested I do this for this trip to help assure I get into BCV or BWV or do you think I would be able to book the whole 8 night trip all at once for this time of year (Halloween). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and helpful. And if anyone as any suggestions for room or view requests at BCV or BWV, that would nice too.

For that time of the year, I would call day to day! Halloween is very busy, the MNSSHP are traditionally sold out for that night, and F&W is going on as well. Are you willing to try a waitlist for days that may be sold out, even as you call at 7 months out?

I think that the Boardwalk resorts are even more popular for the F&W than for Christmas, and I've thought that 1 bedrooms are "easier" to book than studios.
