Hi Everyone! I've been stewing about this.... have stayed at CCI before and was very happy with it, but I collect Marriott Rewards points, so am considering the Fairfield Inn for our trip in October. Price is about the same. We won't be spending much time there... just for sleeping, but I'd like to hear about any experiences at Fairfield. Also, CCI has a shuttle, though Fairfield is walking distance... but how safe is it really to walk there late at night after park closing with two kids? Thanks for your feedback!

I have stayed many times at the Fairfield. The rooms have always been clean, and the staff very friendly. They do not offer a continental breakfast at this location. The only negative expierence I had there was once they put me in a room next to the elevator. The elevator was noisy, not to mention hearing all the chatter from people waiting for the elevator.
I have never felt unsafe walking on Harbor Blvd. There are always lots of other families walking as well. I really like not having to wait for the shuttle.:tink:

I have never stayed at the Fairfield, but I've stayed at the CCI once. It was clean and they had a nice pool area. I used the shuttle to get to the parks on that trip.

I've stayed at the Fairfield once. It's very nice and clean. The staff was very nice as well. Everything extra I asked for was in our room upon arrival. We even got to watch the (very loud) fireworks from our door and window. The walk was about 7.5 minutes from the hotel front doors to the esplanade security check point.

It was a free stay, since I worked for Marriott, so I am not sure about the value of the place. But for free it was awesome!

We spent 2 nights there last year and the walk was great. We walked back after midnight from the parks and I never worried or anything. (and believe me I would).

The parking is really terrible!! If you don't need your car, then park and don't move it again until you need to leave!!

The rooms were a nice size and clean.

HTH!

This was my experience as well. (but since i wasn't near the elevator, i didn't have that issue)

For breakfast there's a McDs right in their parking lot. 7 min. walk to DLR gates is easy & problem free.

I've also stayed at the Candy Cane. The nicer pool & continental bfast make the CCI worth about $30-$40 more (imo).....but I'd stay again at Fairfield if i had points or the deal was right.

We stayed at the Fairfield last October. We had a friend and then hubby's Dad and his girlfriend. Altogether we had 4 rooms. All of us feel that we would not visit this property again. We stayed in October so we got the 4th night free. The front desk was far from helpful. We booked through Disney travel. I am not sure what happened but they insisted that the single person in our group had 2 rooms. Only 1 man but 2 rooms, um ok. Finally got that straightened out.

The McDonalds nearby is good with the kids. The room size was fine for the single person or the couple but us with 2 kids and the stroller found the room extremely small. Also the elevators seem to be in a constant state of repair. Every elevator that stopped was completely full. Most days we just went down the 3 flights of stairs.

Nothing horrible about the place. But with so many options available I would pick someplace else.

Stayed at the Fairfield last year with my parents and sister. There are 4 elevators I believe, but only 2 were in operation, and always a different 2. We were on the 4th floor, so this was a pain sometimes. But my sister and I (20 and 21), being young and impatient just took the stairs...and we also had our own room, which was really nice. Plenty big for the two of us, could have had a couple friends with us too, and we still would have been just right. Could see/hear the fireworks from the room, which was great. :goodvibes Really clean, friendly staff and pretty good rates from what I remember my parents paying...

We stayed at the Fairfield last November, 2 adults and 2 children. The walk wasn't a problem at all, and I never felt unsafe.

The room was okay, we had a small issue with the door not closing properly  but maintenance was quick to come and fix it. The staff was friendly and helpful. One elevator was down while we were there, and since we had a double stroller and an ECV it usually meant waiting for 2 elevators, but not a big issue.

The only thing I really remember that I didn't like was the shower head. I'm not tall, only about 5'4" but I don't know how anyone taller than myself could take a shower in there, the shower head was so low!

I'd go with the Fairfield if only for the fact its a lot closer, we walked back to our hotel on Harbor after midnight some nights and never felt unsafe. There are lots people round all hours along there.

Like the Fairfield. :thumbsup2 As you can see from my siggie, we have stayed there several times. We have never had a problem with anything. (Last year we were there in Oct. during the Santa Anas and the wildfires and their smoke alarms sensed smoke and went off at 6:15am. I was up, but the rest of our party had to get up and quickly dress to be ready to evac. They let us know that it was nothing to worry about) BTW, no worries that you might sleep through a fire alarm - it was sooooooo loud, no one could sleep through it!
