Need AAA parking pass for July

How do you get one? I am going in October and getting a rental car, is it worth having the pass? A friend will let me borrow hers but is it easy just to get your own?

To me it's not worth paying for but since we rent a car & prefer to drive to the parks DH wanted one.

Some of them have been selling for ridiculous amounts on ebay. I think I got off pretty cheap by comparison. Plus we will get at least 2 trips out of it before it expires at the end of this year so... depending on how much more convenient it ends up being we may or may not try to buy one again.

I just pulled out mine that we used earlier this year. The voucher states (using their emphasis):

'This voucher provides the bearer the opportunity to use the "AAA Diamond Parking" spaces at the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme park during regular operating hours. Present this voucher to the Auto Plaza attendant at the Theme Parks listed above, with a valid Walt Disney World Resort ID or selected Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park Ticket. Parking subject to availability. Block out dates and parking locations may be changed or discontinued without notice and without liability. This voucher is NOT VALID for complimentary parking OR admission to any of the named Theme Parks. This voucher is not transferable to any other party. Photo ID required.'

There are various block out dates through out the year, mostly for the MK. AK doesn't have any listed on the voucher.

For MK they are: April 8-23, April 29-30, July 4, Sept. 4-5, Oct. 11-31, Nov. 22-25, Dec. 1-31.

For MGM they are: July 4, Nov. 11-14, Dec. 26-31

For Epcot: July 4, Dec. 24-31.

We really found the pass not all that helpful at MK or MGM. There was a lot more walking than we had hoped from the exit to the parking spot. Arriving wasn't bad but when we were tired at the end of the day having to walk out to those 2 lots was a lot for my 4 boys (not to mention my dh and me)!

I hope that is helpful for someone! It was nice to parked close at Epcot since I did have to make a run to the van during our day and it would have taken so much longer if I'd had to take the tram to/from the regular parking area.

The AAA parking is decent at MGM and great at AK & Epcot. I would just point to it and be waived on through to the AAA parking area. If it doesn't have your name or AAA # on it, then surely it can be transferred to at least another AAA member.

And now, Wow! I can't believe people are actually selling these on eBay.

Last year, I was able to post and get one free. I even paid it forward by leaving it for the person who organized the DVC Christmas tree exchange.

And now my 1st reply is someone wanting to sell one to me? I'm glad greed is alive and well. I'll reimburse postage and either send it back or pay it forward when my trip is over, but I'm not paying for one otherwise.

So, please PM me if this sounds good. If you want to sell yours, post it on eBay, not on my thread.

I had one for my last trip because I booked a package through AAA. I never actually used it, because we got to the parks so early every day we were in the first regular parking row. I figured the extra couple rows wouldn't have made a difference.

Maybe it's just me but you asked a question, someone responded (very simply, IMO) and because you didn't LIKE their response you are calling them greedy & telling others not to bother posting on YOUR thread????

You may be able to drop by your local AAA office and get one just for asking. If you buy a 4 day hopper or longer pass through AAA then one is included (although you may have to request it). IMO passing them along to other people dilutes the value of the passes. I wouldn't sell mine either for the same reason. Obviously, reasonable people can disagree.

We were given a AAA Pass from a Disboard Friend, and had no problems they never even look at it. Just show the attendant and they tell you to follow the signs into the parking lot. I sent the AAA Pass to another DisBoard friend. We should all help each other for Free!!!!!!!!

Couldn't agree more. A very sweet Dis'er gave me their AAA parking pass last year, and I passed it off to another when I was home.

And it THRILLS me to hear the Dis'ers are passing them along to others after they've used them - I wasn't aware of that possibility, but I think it's great!! (we always use WDW transportation)

Unfortunately, we probably won't get our AAA package until early Aug, otherwise I'd GLADLY pass mine along to the OP...no bidding required and I'll even pay the postage! If you're going again after July, you're welcome to it!!

We had one for our May 2004 trip, used it once, and took the tram from then on. I did not find it convenient at all. quite a lot of walking from the lot to the entrance. JMO
