Need a 'word' for a 'name'

I do think that the other poster was correct....much like the "ashley" glut....there are going to be a ton of Bellas for the next few years.......not that it should deter you, but you should be aware and the make the choice with full knowledge.

I think Ellasen sounds like Allison and I think she'll be correcting people all her life. I think Ella is very pretty and classic though. My dd knows a boy named Ellison--that is also very close.

I like the name Victoria and I also think even a nickname of Tori is nice.
I agree with the people who say give her a name you love and think is nice instead of having her named for the trials of your pregnancy.

How about the name Vada? It's a germanic name meaning famous ruler.
Elasan Vada! You could call her Ella Vada!

Vada is from MY GIRL :)

But..Ella Vada sounds like Darth Vader to me...lol

I agree with this.
even though Ellasen or Ellison is a very pretty name, I also love the name Ella..........
Ella Victoria is a beautiful name.
also agree, give her a name you love, never mind the trials of pregnancy

We call her Ella now... not sure what we'll call her when she's born.. Ella or Ellasen.. .but Ellasen is meant to sound like Allison but with my grandmas twist.

And...as of now, it is still Victoria...just looking for ideas.. most people come up with names for their babies while pregnant...I just thought something might stick that somebody mentions.. if not, no biggie :goodvibes

I got Ellasen from someone here on the boards who mentioned the name Ellasyn, I just changed the spelling for my grandma, already had Ella in mind :)

And , my son Sage, even hours after birth was ALMOST Grayson, because of someone else on the boards... I just may hear another name I like :)

When you see her something might click too. have your list of names you love and when you see her I bet one of them will "click" for you!
when are you due ?

For some reason Ellasen Promise keeps coming to my mind.

I like the name Ellasen, but I just feel compelled to throw in that with a somewhat unusual name (Mari, pronouced like Maury Povich if you say MAH ree and not Moor ee), I still have it misprounced and mispelled every day. I get Mary, Marie, Maria, Moory, etc. I have to spell it every time I give my name, and of course it's still mispronounced when they read it. It's just a tad annoying...way more so annoying when I was in school. So, just something to think about. The guy at the restaurant taking the names won't know your Grandma's name, etc. and will write "Allison" all the time.

Congrats on your pending arrival and good luck in your search for a middle name!

seriously??? I like the middle name Rose. Ella Rose would be lovely.

I've been thru similar with my oldest daughter Rayden.. It's pretty much spelled how it sounds...but when she says it.. everyone calls her Raven or Reagan...
And..my youngest DD Kayleigh.. her spelling is different than alot...

People always put an E in my name...yeah, drives me nuts, but still worth having the name I want :)

Thanks for the luck wishes :)

I followed your previous thread but missed that things turned our well. I just want to say a big Whoo Hoo! that little Ella is OK.
But, always more than one way to look at it.... I would never choose a name that would make her feel guilty or 'bad' a bout the journey we went through...
I know that when you look back at the time when you were not sure if your baby had chromosonal defects it seems like forever. In reality it was only about 6 weeks. Now, I know that 6 weeks can seem like a lifetime, but a real lifetime is what you have with your DD once she is born. The "journey" you talk about seems so long now, it will pale in comparison with the journey ahead of you ... and her.

I would give Ella a forward looking middle name. You are already honoring the past with her first name.

Don't know if this has been posted since I didn't read all responses, but I like...

Ellasen Joy Lastname

I think it flows really well, and reflects all the Joy she will bring you!
