We are still working on a middle name for our soon to be daughter, Ellasen.
As of now..it is Victoria.... but we were trying to come up with an idea -

She has put us through alot of stress over test results, and continued to overcome... We want something to represent this trial of pregnancy with her. Something along the lines of "Faith, Hope & Love", but none of those 'names'. LOL
We kinda like "Miracle" so far...
Any ideas??

Patience comes to mind...not sure if that fits the bill, though.

Victoria = victory. It seems appropriate to me. Either that or Rocky. ;)

I know sisters who have 3 middle names or words each...the first is Name name Serinity Claire Lastname

the other is Name Babe Precious Treasure lastname...

hope this helps...

Or maybe Serenity?

ETA - I see someone else has already suggested it.

Tracy, I know you have had a lot on your mind so far this pregnancy!! I have followed your thread and am so thankful for your happy news.

That said, I would go with Ellasen Victoria. I just don't think any of the "word" names are really appropriate for the long term. You can call her "our little miracle" but I honestly think at some point she will wish she were named something else. It just sounds too trendy and un-name-like to me. I don't even really like the "Faith, Hope and Joy" middle names, either.

I like the idea of Victoria standing for victory, though!

Charity

<< 1 Corinthians 13 >>
King James Bible

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity

Also lots of new versions substitute the word love for charity as it is just a slightly different interpritation of the original word.

Victoria = victory. It seems appropriate to me. Either that or Rocky. ;)

I thought about "Victory" as part of Victoria :)

And...we called our son Sage "Rocky" during the whole pregnancy....lol, so can't call her that too!! :lmao:

I don't know, I really like Faith as a middle name. Without Faith you have nothing. Faith is what gives you Hope. Faith is what makes you believe in miracles. Faith is what you hold onto when you don't know what else to do. Without Faith, you have nothing.
JMO anyway.

I do like Victoria though. It is a beautiful name.
Good luck!

Journey...it certainly has been a beautiful one, right?

My middle name is Victoria. I think it's lovely.

I understand your idea, but I really don't like the sound of Miracle as a name. It just sounds awkward and not feminine to me. However, if you find something that's really meaningful to you it would probably be fine as a middle name. You would give it to her for the meaning, but it's not something she would likely use in her everyday life.

Happy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Doc, Dopey, or Bashful??

But seriously, you could look up a beautiful word in Spanish, and it would sound lovely as a name! I had a child in my classroom whose name was Blanca Nieves - literally means Snow White!!

We named our DD a word. Her name is Destiny. She is almost 11 and the name fits her perfectly!

My cousin named her DD Miracle and my other cousin named her DD Star. I love all of these names. At first my family gave us such a hard time for naming our DD Destiny. My cousins also got a hard time, but now the names fit all of them so perfectly. I can't imagine any of them being named anything else.
