Need a Trojan Removal Tool

My mother had a virus on her older laptop, and I was afraid I was going to have to reformat. (She is using Windows 2000.)

All the formus I read indicated the case was hopeless. But one user pointed me to Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. I downloaded the free version from their website, and it worked like a charm.

Thanks for the link. I was able to do a system restore for them to a previous date but I think they should still use something like this to scan for any issues. Thanks again.

You need to locate the .latex file that is corrupted and be sure to use the extraction tool to have it removed correctly

OH.....the Trojan computer virus! Sorry I can't help with that problem, but I did have an idea or two for the other kind of Trojan removal problem.

This thread is cracking me up!!

I do have constructive advice, however. We had it on my personal laptop and it shut the entire thing down. Had to wipe the entire hard drive clean and reload everything. PITA but the only thing that worked.

My DH had issues with his desktop and purchased something I think was called PC Doctor. It was the only thing that worked, setting the date did not help, etc.

bolding mine... it usually does help to have a doctor in that kind of removal. This is the Dis, though, and we all know its consulted BEFORE doctors!
