I'm a choir director and this June I am taking my Select Choir to do a choir workshop at Disney. Everyone in Select Choir is a senior, and NONE of them have ever been to Disney. They are all Disney fans and are really excited! I have been many times and I'm excited to share this with them.

The two chaperones and myself are pooling money together because we want to get them each a gift for use on the trip. This is what we are thinking; but we would absolutely LOVE feedback from other teens on if you think this would be appreciated, and I'd ESPECIALLY love it if you could suggest other things!

The main gift, we are thinking a cinch bag embroidered with each of their names that they could use in the parks. One like this: http://gtmsportswear.com/product/mesh-sling-bag?Product=5062&Color=811#tab=customer-reviews in purple, which is one of our school colors.

Inside the bag, we were thinking of adding the following:
--a Disney lanyard with a pouch on it for them to hold their park tickets and hotel room cards (we are staying off property)
--a cheap poncho for rain days
--a glowstick from the dollar store to use at night for fun
--one of the Disney autograph books (help me on this one; I know it's kids that usually do this but several of the kids are talking about how excited they are to take pictures, etc with the characters; do teens like to do the autograph thing or would a photo album or picture frame be a better gift?)

Anyways, please give me your feedback on this, criticism, etc. I love my students and I want this trip to be one they will never forget!

Wow, that sounds like a fantastic idea! It sounds like it will be an amazing experience

As for the autograph book, I personally don't normally do autographs at Disney, but only because forgetful me would probably end up losing the book. But I do think it would be a good idea

I hope your trip is awesome! :thumbsup2

I think that is so cool I think autograph books are good for first vacations its something memorable to take home with them and I love the personalized bag idea :thumbsup2 have a good trip it sounds like it will be a good one!

I think it sounds like fun and it's awesome that you guys get to go.

I like the bag with the names, especially for a large group like a choir.

I think autograph books are a great idea, but what my family did one year was get a photo album and have the pages signed so we cold put the corresponding pictures in later.

Since it's their first trip, autograph books are the perfect idea. If you could even get their names embroidered in the Disney font on the bags, that would be super cute.

Disney sells autograph books like that, mine from a few years ago had a spot for a picture and a spot for the character to sign.

We have always done autograph books, and I think (even seniors) would enjoy them, especially since this is their first time going to Disney.

This really sounds like and awesome trip! I wish our school would do stuff like this!

That sounds like a great idea I know they will have TONS of fun!
Autograph books sound great! And if you are going to have like group shirts that say senior trip or something like that ,get them autographed that way they can wear it or even frame it to keep forever!:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. I hadn't thought about using the Disney font for the names on the bags; that's great!

I appreciate all the input and I welcome more! You guys know your age group best.

And yes I am blessed to work for a school that allows me to take my students on trips like this--I'm actually allowed to take them anywhere I want to, even out of the country if I was ambitious enough, as long as there is an educational reason.

Everything sounds good to me! :). I didn't do autographs when we went to Hollywood Studios, but I just didn't think of it. Sad. ;). But next time, I am definitely doing autographs! :). Another thing that seems to be pretty popular is pin trading, but its so expensive, hence the reason I don't do it. ;)

Hello,

First off, I hope you and the kids have a blast at Disney World! It was always a dream of mine to travel to Disney with the band and perform, but never got the chance to. I'm a freshman in college now and I'm going to be working at Walt Disney World starting this summer.

As for the gift ideas, I think the bags with their names embroidered is a great idea! Just make sure the writing is in Walt-o-graph ;) Inside of them, I agree with the lanyard, poncho, and glow stick, but I have an alternative idea for the autograph book. Maybe instead you could get each kid a $5 or $10 Disney Gift Card so they could buy a pin or two to put on their lanyard. I know a big part of my Disney experience is pin trading with cast members throughout the park. Either way though, the kids and you are going to have an amazing time!

If you have any questions, please feel free to message me :)

Have a Magical Day!
Jonathan

The bag is a great idea! Glow stick, lanyard, poncho, all great ideas. I'm on the fence on the autograph books. I did like the gift card idea. Or, you could search out a small lot of pins from a reputable eBay seller and attach them to their landyards and include a few pointers on pin trading. That could be fun.
Have a magical trip!!!

I think everything is great, but I (personally I don't like characters) wouldn't add the autograph book bc not all of the teens may like that, maybe a disposable camera, Hidden Mickey book, or a photo album would be a better fit?:confused3

That all sounds great but I would get them just a picture frame or something other than the autograph book. I am 16 and although I love disney and taking pictures, i leave the autographs to my younger sister. But everything else is perfect really!

I am NOT a teen but have a DD15 who was been to Disney many times. She could LOVE the cinch sak in the WDW font..not so much on the autograph book.....They do have the HIDDEN MICKIES book on amazon she enjoys looking for those...I also think the passporters are soo cool. maybe a few of those and a few hidden mickies books and they could swap.share but each end up with one book?

Personally I lean more towards the photo frame - even the inexpensive cardboard style with a mickey on it etc. I think ways to record memories are awesome and passporters lets you do this...Maybe a bulk discount with them as well?

The bags are a PERFECT idea! It will also be very helpful as far as keeping track of each other goes.

I would forego the autograph books. The EPCOT Passports are a much better idea, but I am not sure you can buy those ahead of time. At least not as a reasonable price. Perhaps cheap mini fans would be a good idea! Keep you all cool!
